Trains at Chelmsford, GEML - 11/2/20

Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Chelmsford located on the Great Eastern Main Line where services are seen by Greater Anglia only.
Chelmsford was a nice station and has a very similar design to that of Bath Spa both because of the architecture and the fact it's a 2 platform station located on a viaduct with the only difference being the trains and the electrification. Chelmsford had some nice curves, the view is quite nice towards Colchester because of the fact you can see trains from a distance but only by a glimpse before they turn up. The station is home to a city and is quite small but has fantastic frequency, some stations do also fit in this category. Overall, a great station and one I'd recommend.

Nice to have seen the old station again, as been a long time no visit (1983) or before was the final, last time I was there, what was Eastern National had a bus garage where the bus station is.

Awesome Video Bud :) The 90/82 sets have done an amazing job on the GEML it will be a sad day when they're fully retired but can't keep them forever.

Brilliant video Kieran. Surely Colchester and Ipswich have to be 2 of the top 5 busiest stations in Essex, right?

I’m guessing Stansted Airport, Chelmsford, Colchester, Southend Central and Shenfield. Although Romford and Barking are probably in there, but they shouldn’t count because they’re inside the M25.

Just a thought. If you wanted to film and do pictures you could get a tripod, then put your filming camera on the tripod then take pics with your canon

Nope, Wilmslow is next. I was meant to do Woking but I was sick so I couldn't go. Woking is actually after the Wilmslow trip.
