'sent off to prison, they said i was mean.' so damn profound, this guy never had a family that cared, never had a chance, was already tracked as a prisoner, a con. as a former teacher at a poor oregon high school, this is the story of many of my former students. more than a few had spent time in kid prison, got out, and ended up in my math classes. many returned to incarceration, because they had nothing. that's why this song overwhelmed me the first time i heard it....
