Kiekie this is epic! I was so emotional while watching it. I left my first relationship due to domestic violence. I was not legally married to him but we only did introduction and we stayed together. Hoping that when there's enough cash we will do the right thing. He cheats on me with out any atom of respect. To the extent of bringing his used condoms home for me to see. Just to spite me. It was hell. I already had two kids for him and everyone including my parents said I have to bear. That marriage is not a bed of roses. That I already have two kids for him. No one will like to marry me again knowing that I am single mum.😭 But I had to leave when he broke my head one night and locked me inside. I would have really died if not for God who used the community youth and they ordered him to open the door.😭😭😭😭 I still remember it as of was yesterday. I was this close to giving up. It felt like I wanted to sleep. But nurse that attended to me said. You are VERY LUCKY they brought you on time. I took the bold step to LEAVE. I might not be so lucky next time. Am happily married to a man I call angel on earth. God compensated me beyond my imagination. I just had my first baby🥰🥳. My ex is still single. Am surprised cos he bragged with it that he purposely didn't marry me cos I wasn't worth it and when I made up my mind to leave he told me to my face that I was old meat and no one will ever marry me. He called me " after two" 🤣🤣🤣. Please if you are facing any form of domestic violence leave don't think it's the end of the road for you. God will surprise you. I have peace of mind,joy, in short " I have more than I could ever ask for" 👍👍👍 kiekie

Thank you for speaking up Kiekie, it's crazy, since Osinachi's case I have been expecting the church to speak up against domestic violence, sadly for the past 2 sundays at "my church" my pastor has been putting the blame for failing marriage, soley on the women... if Osinachi was a member of my church, the sad outcome of her life would have been the same, because by my "pastor's standard" it would be her fault and he preaches that living the marriage is not an option 😔. I have decided will not let traditions and religion keep me in bondage when Jesus died to set me free. I chose to NOT perish because of lack of knowledge that domestic violence is not God's will for me.
@sanchi8052 жыл бұрын
Why attend a church where the pastor condones abuse? Is this the only church you can go to? The more you attend and turn a blind eye is the more he has the power to spew illogical and divisive ideas.
@abiodunsulaiman5122 жыл бұрын
You may need to change church. My pastor speaks regularly against domestic abuse and emphasises that if a marriage fails, the man is ultimately responsible as God placed him as the head of the home and he will give the ultimate report to God on that home. Perpetrators of domestic abuse should be dealt with, not covered up.

Wow.. Idk if I ever commented on any of your skits, but I always liked you. Today, you earned my respect KieKie!. This, in my opinion, is the BEST work you ever did. I'm grateful you touched every important aspects when it comes to abusive relationships, from the role of the society (friends, church, etc) to that of the victim..who continues to suffer in silence & make up all kinds of excuses for the abuser. It was perfectly and accurately portrayed. This is perfection! Well done. I'd hope to meet you someday. That said, please allow me to digress somewhat and relate it to the present situation in Nigeria as a whole. Nigeria is a marriage/relationship (forcefully) put together by the British with peoples of different cultures who share absolutely NOTHING in common with each other...just for their (British) own economic gain. And this union has been chaotic ever since then. We continue to tell ourselves that we're "One" & can make it work, yet there's NEVER been unity or peace in this relationship since it began over 60 years ago. Like KieKie portrayed in the skit, it seems like the idea of a break-up of this failed and abusive relationship with Nigeria scares the hell out of everyone, yet, we continue to be abused on a daily basis!. No good news ever comes out of Nigeria. It's tragedies upon tragedies, and largely due to the intentional failure of the people in charge..who are just puppets in the hands of those who put together this scam relationship. In fact, some of us have now gotten so used to the abuse that we make excuses now for the abusers whenever people like us advocate for a break-up. Hundreds die becos of this abuse almost every other day in Nigeria, kidnappings left and right, and so forth, and we've become desensitized to it (just like the abused lady who got so used to those marks on her face)...until we're personally affected. The question is, for how long are we going to remain in this failed & abusive union, hoping that the same people (politicians a.k.a. our abusers) used to keep us subdued will someday have a change of heart..like this abusive guy? Is it until this relationship kills everyone before we wake up to the reality that we're in fact, victims of abuse? Only a break-up from this toxic relationship will save us. It's okay to start again. I know the idea is scary. But we can create smaller and much manageable nations that obey the law and will hold everyone accountable regardless of who you are, unlike the case with Nigeria that was founded on lawlessness & impunity. It's not a call for war or ethnic divide. No. Everyone will remain where they currently are, but the regions(territories) will now be governed by its indigenous people. It's NOT a call to expel anyone from their current places of residence and force them to move to their respective new nations. No!. This is a BIG lie the politicians (a.k.a. our abusers) are using to scare you into remaining in this failed & abusive relationship becos it benefits them. Yoruba Nation, Biafra Nation, Arewa Nation and Middle Belt Nation are the way to go. Not Nigeria. We can be great neighbors doing businesses together, not forced together to survive in one contraption called Nigeria. Anyway, just thought I'd chip this in. I know most people in Nigeria hate hearing about a break-up (of the country), but it's becos they have no understanding of how it works & don't realize they're victims of an abuse that will never end as long as they remain in this unholy union. So linking it with this skit is the only way some can begin to reason and make some sense of it. Nigeria has abused you for so long, and no amount of elections will change that. Elections only replace your abusers. End Nigeria Now to save lives. Don't wait until Nigeria happens to you or a loved one to realize that this abusive union can never work. As KieKie said, don't wait till this relationship kills you. You can Leave (Nigeria) to Live! Referendum is what everyone should be talking about. Not another round of elections. Rigged elections. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Wow! I'm a fan of your line of thought, sir. From your compliment on Kiekie's work to the very detailed "digression" to the unholy union of the Nigerian entity; I can't but appreciate your depth in appreciating this piece. However, the sad reality in the case of the Nigerian space is my fear that things will remain the way they are for some time into the future. It's sad how we cannot alter our own destiny. God's blessings. To you. To everyone. And to me. Until we all reach that state and point of epiphany. ❤️

Well done KieKie for using your amazing talent and this platform to speak life into the lives of millions who experience domestic violence. You brought it out so vividly so much that all can relate and comprehend the need to leave for safety first. It is sad that many are blinded by religious and or cultural beliefs to their very own damnation! I am with you a 100%. No woman or man should die because of domestic violence.
