Looks like a player that makes up his mind quickly to look for the right play, the way he controls his pace is amazing.

You can see why he is so important. The way he drives with the ball at pace. Skill to get out of a tight situation. Comfortable when he finds himself in the wing positions. Massive for counter attacks. Sees a pass. Biggest I would say is his ability to take up space where the striker has dragged a CB into midfield, and beat the covering players with his explosive pace (you don’t see that from many CM). He can also exploit the space left by the winger also. Both Palmer and Nkunku don’t have the driving pace. But do have the smarts. He reminds me of a Gerrard playing in the 10 roll. Obviously slight differences but affects the game in a similar way especially with his forward driving runs and finishing. I give him the stamp of approval. However, we would sadly need to sell or loan out Gallagher, Cacadei and Carney. No way Enzo, Caicedo, Palmer or Nkunku go. We also have Santos and Lavia. It will be very interesting, I’m happy to not be the one making these types of decisions.
