Guka missed something here. The third boy is named after your Guka because even your brother was named after him…. and the Guka you’re naming after was named after your great grandfather. The naming in Gíkúyú culture goes like this: First pair of children are named after the parents of the man Second pair is named after the parents of the woman Third pair after grandparents of the man Fourth after grandparents of the woman Twins are named from the side which was next on line. They’re not separated. So, if it was the woman’s grandparents next, she’ll name both children in her bloodline The name we carry means a lot. All ancestors bearing this name are watching over us. That’s why, if you don’t perform the right cultural duties for a girl like Rurashio, her ancestral mothers (Ngomi) who bear the same name will be after you.

Hi Symo...thank you for asking guka my question. But you left some part that I need to understand... Huyu kijana Ako shule secondary...the dad had some visitors and he had to kuchija a sheep...so that's when the dad asked the son ati niwe arathinjira mburi iyo na arenda atinie mutwe ari wee...in short aite thakame ..and so the son did it......alipokata kichwa akamea,bia aondoke sasa .
