Kiki is, and always been incredible. I’m a huge fan. She’s also timeless. A very young 77 years old.

Kiki Dee is a fabulous singer and it’s staggering that she’s not been on the legendary stage at Glastonbury! She should be booked asap before she retires ❤ Fantastic interview Lewis!

Great interview- I’ve always been a fan of Kiki. As others have said, criminally underrated but she’s a real gem. One of my favourite songs is First Thing In The Morning. ❤

Kiki is wonderful - lovely person and fabulous singer. Loved her voice and music since i first heard Amoureuse in 1973 when i was 12 years old.

WOW how glad am I that I stumbled upon this interview! I've loved Kiki since 1974 when as a 13 year old I first heard Amoureuse. She has an incredible voice and has recorded so many iconic tracks. Frustratingly she never quite achieved the superstar status her talent deserved. The Elton duet was that one moment where everything aligned and the rewards were equal to the material and the talents. It was of course so much more difficult for female artists to be taken seriously back in the 60s and 70s when the music industry and society in general was so misogynistic. Especially here in the UK where only a small handful of females managed to sustain successful chart careers over any period of time and even they struggled! Great to see Kiki looking incredible at 77, she looks and sounds 20 years younger!. Thanks for all the wonderful music and memories Kiki, you helped make the drudgery of life bearable for this confused Scottish teenager. Thanks guys for posting this incredible interview.

Kiki,i must confess,i was the only male at my Glasgow school that liked "Star" 1981! I think it was because the production side of it was so magical and being an ELO/10cc/Supertramp fan,it kind of struck a chord with their productions, plus your brilliant voice was perfect for it!

I have always felt that Kiki has been underrated in this country. One of the best vocalists we have produced and i am proud to have her Loving & Free album in my collection. Still looking great. 💙

Never seen her interviewed before, what a laid back cool person she is, just lovely. I was small when I got into music cos I had an older sister, and one of the first songs I loved and remember was Amoureuse, I was seven years old and the song remains with me to this day, still in my music playlist.

I grew up on a council estate in North Birmingham. The father of a friend had a job 'manager in the music business'. It could have been anything. Every time I went Michael Smith's house there were cards, picture 'pen diagram' etc. I remember sering a Cat Stevens card before he had the hit with Matthew and Son. I saw Kiki's card and I was told she had been signed to Motown. Many years later I went to a KD concert at Pizza Express Birmingham. It is a caberet type venue. Kiki blew the waals out. Afterwards she visited every table. Talk about modesty. Talk about humity. Kiki was off the scale. Love her. Love her music. Star does not begin to describe this mega star. 💜💙💜💙 #utv

Excellent interview - Kiki has always been such an elegant lady with that wonderful down to earth sense of place and a young perspective.....and that superb natural voice. My favourites by her are the beautiful, timeless Amoureuse (Veronique Sanson's original is a bit too strident for me) and the dramatic Stop And Think from her Fontana days.

Fantastic interview. I've been a massive Kiki fan for decades. So many great singles, and her eponymous 1977 album is still one of my favourites to this day. She's pure class, and so is Lewis. Well done to both! 👍

Very good interview, and interesting insights offered by Kiki Dee on her career, a glimpse of behind the scenes into song making going as far back as the sixties. A very down to earth girl, with no pretensions and a great voice and singer.

I saw Kiki in Blood Brothers at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. She was okay but we went to see it again & you could see she was more confident in the role. I've loved her since the 70's, my favourite song is Night Hours from the Kiki Dee titled album.
