Your dolls are always incredibly gorgeous and this one is no exception. The sculpting of her dress is really nice and the paint job just brings it all to another level. She is lovely. Also, don't feel obligated to push yourself to burnout or to release videos on a certain schedule. This channel is for you, and if you're not happy with the work you're doing it shows. I'd personally rather see a quality video once a month that you're pleased with than two that you aren't. Hope you're having a lovely day miss Etellan ❤️

As this is an old video, I'm sure you won't see this comment, but I just want to say thank you for doing these videos. I have had creative burnout for years after coming down with a "mysterious illness" we later found out to be fibromyalgia. I'm so tired and constantly feel unmotivated, so I understand how you feel. I wanted to do what you do, making figures or dolls but I felt like because I'm so tired I won't make them frequently enough to make money to live. But realizing I'm not doing it for money and I'm doing it because I love it is something I'm still learning. Thank you for this video it's very beautiful. I love kikis delivery service and you did kiki justice with this figure! Lots of love to you ❤

She is so beautiful! I'm not huge fan of figurines, but your Kiki turned amaizing. Only one thing which is missed for me is lack of blushing her body. Everything like her dress, bag, hair, face has got its own artificial shadows, but her hands are flat. But anyway, this figurine is beautiful. Thank you for telling about burnout. This becames huge problem in modern world and not everyone remember about it.

Love your dry brushing to create the highlights and lowlights, beautiful job! To see my childhood idol recreated with such care and beauty brought such a smile to my face. After a particularly rough day at my day job, I logged onto KZbin at just the right time to see you posted. This was the first and only Ghibli movie I was able to watch as a kid and I wanted to *be* Kiki. Even to this day, it is one of my most favourite films, and the joy and humour in your voice when bringing it into the world of anime figures was just a lovely experience. I can see the improvement you've made and I just know that your tiny art nook will grow to a full studio. I believe that you are doing great and completely agree about being easier on ourselves. Excited for the next one and I hope to get my hands on something as beautiful as this one day! :)

I super want to dig out an old anime figure and do this now, I have about a million blind box Namis from my One Piece phase I could sacrifice to the ooak gods. I love how flowy the fabric looks, and the little Jiji is too sweet for words.
@MoonMoonTM3 жыл бұрын
When you started talking about how you thought Jiji was a lot bigger than she actually was.. I had a good little laugh because I decided to watch Sailor Moon Crystal and Eternal recently. I saw little Diana sitting on Chibiusa’s head and thought “I could have sworn she was so much bigger” but nope. She was just as tiny in the 90s anime lol

She's absolutely beautiful! I love the sense of movement you achieved with different aspects, definitely not easy to do. And yes, do take care of yourself during these difficult times... I think a good majority of us can relate to the relentless roller-coaster of emotions you're going through, it's simply exhausting sometimes! As far as comparing your work with others' and trying to deliver at their pace and/or what you perceive might be a higher level, that is incredibly unfair to the very unique and enormous talent you are blessed with. You have already found your very own individually recognizable style that speaks for you, showing such a deep connection to your emotions and in such a magical way that is breathtaking. So focus on yourself and not so much on others, do what speaks to your heart and soul, whether it's a happy or sad or angry or ecstatic conversation, whatever the mood, and express this in your work. Isn't that what makes a true artist? ;)

This really spoke to me, when you were talking about how you related to Kiki I had felt the same way. Since I just got out of College, for animation, that was a literal never ending stress fest. I started develop anxiety when i think or want to animate. For context, I would work on projects everyday from 9am-5am, and didn't really get time for break days to relax. So now I just have this intense anxiety over going through that again and I sometimes have panic attacks when thinking about animating again. I just need an outlet to find my passion again, but its been so hard to get to that step. So thank you for your words on this! I really appreciate it!! Keep up the amazing work as always!!!

As a parent, hearing the words “a non murderous child’” like ‘is there such a child?!’ 😆🙈 But for real, what you talk about here really resonates with me, and I’m so grateful that you’ve brought it up, and for your honesty about it. I’m an artist as well, and I’ve always felt that immense pressure to constantly post work, and feeling that pressure eat away at my confidence in myself and my skill. I’ve always been extremely hard on myself about my art, never feeling it was good enough (that I’m not good enough) and having that fear of disappearing completely in the huge world of social media and artists far more anchored in that world. Unfortunately I’ve suffered some bad physical injuries and have not been able to draw for several months, unsure if I will be able to again, and that is really something driving a stake though my heart. It’s so painful and fearful for me, drawing is my true love, you know? I love to come here and see your incredible work, listen to you speak and share knowledge and dreams, I feel, and I’m very much hoping that you will continue doing your thing, because not matter what, you bring so much authenticity to the table, and it’s refreshing, it sparks inspiration and joy. So thank you so much 💕 and again thank you for opening a door to this subject. I feel it’s not talked about nearly enough...

I think the only thing to consider next is letting the clay dry, and taking some fine sand paper to smooth out the large flats of the dress, or a wet sponge when it's still soft to achieve the same effect. I sculpt 1/35 scale gear (always need more backpacks), and the sandpaper is a necessary step if it's not levelling out like it should with smoothing over before it sets.

She turned out really cute! Love the sculpting. And your words reasonated so much with me... I felt the same last year, I had completely overworked myself and it was partly because I was expecting way too much out of me, or rather, felt like people expected stuff from me and I put too much pressure on me because of that. I didn't make a single doll in a whole year and I still have a ton of WIPs from 2018 to finish... but I'm not pressureing myself anymore. It helped a lot. take care of yourself!

The Figure turn out amazing. It’s great to see you pushing yourself to try something new and succeed. Kiki’s delivery service was one of the first Anime I watched, so the nostalgia is big. About the Grass (in case your still interested how it’s supposed to work) Normally you apply a bit of glue to an area and then use a static grass applicator. This makes the grass stand up due to a electric field, making it look more realistic. You can also buy smol tuffs of grass that were created with that method so you don’t need an fancy applicator yourself. Since you wanted a mossy look this wouldn’t be necessary, but could maybe add more variety/realism.
