So, I wore the C on my Jersey, so I would lead my team out onto the ice. And, I git to chose what song we came out to. My team was average talent wise. But, we came out to this playing against Avon Old Farms; whom(😄) had 5 kids already drafted by the NHL. I had them shut the lights off, and then the lights came on with this song we all came out! I could see in their eyes-fear, we hit them every time one of them touched the puck. I, and my teammates physically dominated the 2nd RANKED H.S Hockey team in the country! We beefin 6 to 3! Like the Blues did to the Boston Bruins.

Hear the tolling of the bells- Iron bells! What a world of solemn thought their monody compels! In the silence of the night, How we shiver with affright At the melancholy menace of their tone! For every sound that floats From the rust within their throats Is a groan. And the people-ah, the people- They that dwell up in the steeple, All alone, And who tolling, tolling, tolling, In that muffled monotone, Feel a glory in so rolling On the human heart a stone- They are neither man nor woman- They are neither brute nor human- They are Ghouls: And their king it is who tolls

Country explodes in civil war and ethnic/secessionist rebellions, war for territory by the ethnic groups and “federal states” comprising Yugoslavia. Federal military tried to preserve the country or at least most of territory and population still loyal to central government, quickly becomes de facto Serbian military (I’m Serbian), long story short the war carries on for 4+ years, I served 12 months, 5 months in combat. Make his fight on the hill in the early day Constant chill deep inside Shouting gun, on they run through the endless grey On they fight, for they're right, yes, but who's to say? For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know Suffered wounds test their pride Men of five, still alive through the raging glow Gone insane from the pain that they surely know For Whom the Bell Tolls Time marches on For Whom the Bell Tolls Take a look to the sky just before you die It's the last time he will Blackened roar, massive roar fills the crumbling sky Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry Stranger now, are his eyes, to this mystery He hears the silence so loud Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be Now they see what will be, blinded eyes to see For Whom the Bell Tolls Time marches on For Whom the Bell Tolls

For some of the fallen the screams still echo through the canyon walls of that God forsaken country,... Where their souls are entrapped until the apocalypse and they are freed to move on towards their afterlife... Time marches on🔥💀🎸🎶🇺🇲

Something incredible is that while you listening to this also someone who is living overseas listen at the same time with you. You don't know who is it but your music taste is the same . İt's kinda like you both are brother/sister even if you don't meet .

I was educating my three year old son today letting him pick the songs based on album cover. I asked him if he knew this band, which of course he did. He says, "It's called Storm Tower" I corrected him but... He's a badass.

First let me say that all of us old dudes (read "taxpayers") who were jamming this in the 80's are indeed still listening to Metallica. (Well, everything on their first 5 albums anyway, but then... >) Anyway, I just wanted to throw out a reminder that the band once said that the inspiration for For Whom The Bell Tolls was taken from the book by Dalton Trumbo titled "Johnny Got His Gun." I highly recommend reading it, and don't cheat yourself by just watching the old movie. Once you've read the book you will understand that Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls is a perfect book review, written in beautiful poetic form, and then set to absolutely killer music. That, children, is what's called "talent." It's what folks back in the day who created, wrote, sang and played THEMSELVES. Not some sampler machine, not something ripped-off from another person, not a dance show, not another headline about who is dating who and/or who might be unsure about their gender, not a pre-programmed cluster of synthetic debris, not a joke. I can truly appreciate and sincerely love all styles of music ranging from Bob Seger to century-old church hymns to Bach to bluegrass banjo to George Jones to Metallica to James Brown to John Denver to those homeless guys filmed playing the piano in KZbin videos. This sort of stuff is all REAL and a critical listener can easily discern it. Now I guess I'll just sit back down in my favorite chair, fire up my Les Paul and Mesa Boogie and keep playing along with these old Metallica tunes at a painful volume. [Richard Pryor once said "You don't get to be old bein' no fool."] God bless y'all, be careful out there, and most of all and most importantly - watch out that you are never deceived because you only get one chance to get it right. [John 14:6]
