It gets to a point I ask myself, who flourishes in marriage for real?? I still believe that marriage works but the scares are so many. People reveal so much pain later and you wonder, where is marriage life headed? Very few people happy in theirs genuinely. It's scary,, personally I already have a phobia towards marriage as much as I still believe that it works. I reasonate so much with Pst. Joan and it makes me so sad. I'm so hurt he did that to you. I'm happy you're doing well now. There's life beyond hurt and it's amazing tht you've chosen to shine regardless of what you went through. I was in a marriage for 1yr 3mnths and the decision to leave was very hard. I would decide to leave every single day but the whole act of actually leaving was hard. Thinking of my kid growing without him, what people would say, that I was not able to maintain my home now that they assume marriage stands strong because women should do all the work. And I categorically state that for marriage to work, the effort is mutual.It has to be. My ex husband used to cheat on me so many times. He would violate me emotionally. He'd have sex with ladies in my own house, they'd get pregnant. I'd swallow all that for the sake of my home. It'd hurt me to the core. He once hit me and the argument was out of his cheating habits and it hurt me to the core! His own mistakes, I'd pay for!? I'd talk to his mum n she'd tell me, "Mutumia ndatindaga akiuma gwakr" Cause I'd leave out of hurt n then come back. "Mutumia akindagiria gwake. Reke athie kuria arenda bata ni ainuke!" I'd do exactly that. It took me quite a while to realize that it was hurting only me.. He would hurt me emotionally using words. There's a day he wanted to take a loan n needed my signature. I had no idea, so the microfinance guy is the one who told me, when he came home for signature. That guy (Ex) wasn't around. So I called him and asked him why he would take a loan without informing me and yet needs my signature. He told me, "I want you to peruse through the signatory page, uniambie now that hao wako hapo wame sign, jiulize, who do you think you are to me? Ukiskia hauta sign, don't!!!" Oh my God. I had to swallow all that to not cry in front of my house manager and the insurance guy. So many things I went through. I relate so much with Pst. Joan's story cause there are things I was also going through. From one thing to another, day in day out! It was very very hard. For a woman to make that decision to leave, it takes so much effort. I totally agree with pastor. I finally left and I also chose to shine after that. I'm only 25yrs of age but what I went through, some people in 30yrs of marriage have never seen. I don't know if I'll ever remarry but God knows. He healed all that hurt and wounds and I'm shining. But abuse is real. Don't die in it. It's not worth it. You'll die and people's lives will continue happily ever after even without you. So, worry about yourself first and your kids. That part of the son defending mom is very emotional. It has made me shed a tear. It’s deep and the son was already tired of seeing his mother being abused. Before he made the decision to act, he had really got at the end of it and could even result in a depression and lifetime trauma. God never wastes our experiences he is already turning this for your good. 2.Your later will definitely be greater you are well on your way to make an impact in this generation even though the enemy tried to derail the same.You are a great woman. 3. Bad experiences don't make us any less children of God and I know such can predispose even believers to depression and as such counseling is important.It's with all humility that I recommend counselling.It's a bold move to make I've been there but it's worthwhile especially now that we have Christian counselors. With that much pain that has been suppressed for years it's important to see a counselor ontop of the good social support of mentors and family around. 4.Let the church arise and pray for pastors and ministers(music,children,special groups ministry) because this is not just an attack on an individual,but the church. May we have more ministers who ministers to all workers in the vineyard.coz they take care of us but who tends to the pastors,the missionaries who are struggling etc. I am impacted and moved thank you for sharing and I know this testimony is sealed in Jesus name pastor Joan.

I went through what you went through and may be more by the grace of God I was able to walk away with my two kids after 10years of all sorts of abuses.
