it's because your deck becomes "infinite" and ANY draw will give a demon since that's all the portal can give

it will work, Jailer will blast the demons in the portal and the portal will instantly refresh itself to 30 demons.

@@TheBreathless24 The deck size of the infinite deck is 30, and will refresh to 30 on every draw, as can be seen with Fanottem, Lord of the Opera. When you play Kil'jaeden with Fanottem, Lord of the Opera in your hand, his mana cost will immediately reset to 30, and when you draw it will become 29 for a split second before reverting to 30 again.

Elemental shaman without the new expansion is way stronger than that. There's no excuse for it to be weaker having access to more cards. My guess is that the shaman misplayed on purpose in order to allow Kil'Jaeden to be showcased.

@@adsadasadsaasd4513 It's theorycrafting, where there is a rule in place that you must have a certain amount of cards from the new expansion in your deck. Sure, you could probably take a tier 1 deck, replace just enough cards to make the deck legal while still keeping it competetive, but is that really what you want to do during your limited pre-access? I think trying out entirely new deck ideas even if they on paper seem like "disneyland", as Rarran would say, is totally the right move.
