KILIMANJARO 5895m, Africa’s highest mountain for my 30th birthday! Lemosho route with trekking hero

From what started as a conversation on the sofa in September 2021 for what I was going to do for my 30th soon became a reality!
I booked my expedition with a company called trekking hero and they was brilliant! They even organised the expedition so I could summit on my birthday making it that bit more special. My guide Robert and the 6 other lads (porters) from trekking hero were incredible! When I say they couldn’t do enough for me I mean it!
I chose the Lemosho route which was 7 days so I could allow my body enough time to adjust to the altitude and because I heard it was a very scenic route also.
I can safely say this experience has truely opened my eyes to different ways of life and I’m so grateful for it. This experience has also gave me that buzz to do more high altitude mountains in the future.

I am climbing in September 2024 so busy training at the moment. In the Welsh Hills . Have to say ..I have watched loads of videos on KZbin...all very good But yours was fantastic Thank You Enjoy your next adventure ✨️

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really do appreciate it. I tried to keep it pretty straight forward in terms of what to expect on the route I chose. If I can give you any advice it would be to take diamox a couple of days prior to doing it as your body will get used to taking it and tip well! You soon realise how much the porters do for you and it really is admirable. Thank you for watching and best of luck!

It was annoying to plan but we’ll worth it. If you are thinking on booking it then do it through trekking hero who I did it with. They help you out with literally everything. And it’s been nice speaking to you also 🤘🏻 always here if you need to know anything
