Lumi is great, but most of his battles i don't always see what he did enough to win especially when against a good opponent. They clearly took a L here.

It's difficult to understand unless you're super experienced or watched a lot of dancers. He not only (intentionally) takes a lot of basics and raises it to an extremely high level, he makes really small adjustments mid movement, where he stays both on balance and off balance at the same time. It's also his commitment to his moves and being patient It's really hard not to break concentration in a bigger setup and go for a blowup the first opportunity you get, you'll see a lot of dancers do it, dykens, larry and rubix often times the culprit of this. For some, there's no payoff to being patient if the movement isn't big, but for a lot of experienced dancers it took a lot of maturation to really understand big and small doesn't mean good or bad.

@@iudexCervello oh, thanks for the explanation. I get your point somehow, but i still feel big or small the moves aren't good enough. Reason why it's very easy for him to lose in a finals with high expectations.

@BanksKids it's give and take, lumi has advantages in certain competitions and disadvantages in others. Dance is also a personal journey, at a certain level the exchanges stop being about wins and losses and become more about conversation and growth. There's a lot to the philosophy that sometimes gets distorted because wins and performance aren't the exact same thing as art or expression. Also the way I see it, he mostly only loses to dancers that have mastered both big and small movement, to me he tied rubix in the final and amiel lost to kuty
