Guro Futol Well the basics of the move may have been created long before in other cultures, but it doesn’t mean nothing was born out of this dance. For example the continuous backspin sprung from a backspin, which was definitely before breaking, but it formed into something different called the windmill. The airfare and variations (which here were bitten from ruen) has its foundations in the handstand and the hip movement of a mill, but is still born from this dance....

Not sure this link really applies to what SLUG is saying. It's one thing to infuse traditional dance steps from one's heritage to help form a dynamic style (like the O.Gs did with breakdancing as the result, and what today's very few best do), and straight up copying someone then mastering their move in some cases better than the originator. This to me is wack.

wheelz114 so it's not okay to "copy" and add your own flavor to the move? The point of the link is to remind folks to calm down with the biting argument. Bboys in the 90s used to watch Battle Squad and the Euro scene to "copy" their moves and make it their own. The same thing happened with the Korean scene that came up in the late 90s and early 2000s. Going back to Slugs earlier msg, I can also see moves that were "copied" on the left side. Ex. Group routine at around 5:00 had similar moves to various team routines in the past. Not a big deal. Ultimately, Ukraine came out hard and shouldn't be discredited because of allegations of biting.

This is a super late response so my b, but from what I remember, the way the judging system was, was that each round was judged and the score would be shown. So pre-tie break, there were 6 rounds, with each side taking 3, and the tie break being the 7th round, going to Ukraine. I was super confused day of too...
