I'm telling you, the amount of strength you have to have to control those cymbals is underestimated. You ain’t playing… and the high step/ breakdown/ solo… they’re all on point. The last video I watched was two dropped sticks (snare) and center sixtuplet missed a half a measure and chimed right back in. Mantasmagorical battery. Zero faults on the cymbal solo. Absolutely wonderful drum corps. CWO US army 5th SFG medic’s approval. Former HS state marching champion (Tennessee) regional champion and grand national championships finalist. McGavock HS Band. A little sick of seeing thumbs down for something like this -- and being an older dude, I see a LOT of young people doing something positive, firstly, which is just totally cool. Secondly, being from a "drum corps/everything should be executed perfectly" perspective, I see this as a 100% awesome fusion of tradition AND a HUGE "raising the bar" from that traditional style to adding expectational excellence. I do not see what the heck there is to dislike about this at all. It is like these folks decided, "We shouldn't;t ditch tradition AT ALL but let's make it even better in THIS way". What's more---they ACHIEVED this and NAILED IT!
