That is some fantastic work. I would impart a thought or two these vehicles were basically new and often had a lifetime of only a few days or weeks. While obviously mud and dirt and grime would accumulate on the exterior the interiors would have remained pretty much new.

Thank you very much :D You are probably right that the weathering may be a little exaggerated. But I wanted this to look as a real worn down "work-horse" ;)

Thanks Gav :) Yes, that waws fun to do - but I didn't have much reference material so I had to the the best I could from what I could find on the Internet.

The tank and figures are amazing. Scrap yard could do with toning the colours down a bit and tank tracks a different colour to the ground their on... 😉

Thanks Bob for your comment ! Yeah, there are areas that would need some improvement, but this was my first base and I learned a lot of things making it.

This will be a perfect kit for me. I'm nit sure why but I want to put a small camera inside a tank model and see through the barrel or somthing and this looks perfect

Yeah, that sounds really cool, the 152mm ML10 has the caliber for it... Best of luck with your build!

The bottom of the hull of mine came warped on one end so I had a bit of trouble getting it to fit and ended up with a bit of mess from cement. Nothing some mud can't hide though haha The turret and the chassis of mine are going to end up as two separate kitbashes; the turret will get scratchbuilt arms and legs to be a sort of KV-2 robot, and the chassis will be fitted with a scratchbuilt refrigerator to replace the turret.

That's the best thing about armour - they get damaged and dirty so it's easy to hide mistakes :D :D Great kitbashing ideas - good luck with the builds !

This is a very nice diorama,nice work also on the tank, i like all the scratch building you have done and the details you've added.

Thank you for those nice words, Damon. It was a fun build, but it was difficult to find good reference pictures of the interior of the KV-2.

This is one of the advantage of the 1:35th scale which is details. Parts are big enough so that you can put extra details even on the inside and you aint gonna loose much parts. Anyways nice build!
@KillBoxScalemodelling4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Yeah, you are correct about the scale, it's convenient for scratchbuilding and still the finished model does not take up too much space :)

Great build. I love the weathering you used on the ammo boxes. The weathered wood finish is near perfect. It would be great if you could do a video solely on weathering wood. It's an overlooked part of modelling that is hard to master, so I'm sure many would appreciate if you would share your techniques.

Yes, it goes together pretty well and it is not a complex build. But Zvezdas assembly instructions can be a bit difficult to understand sometimes.
