KILLEN BROS CONTRACTING SECOND CUT WITH THEIR MIGHTY KRONE 1180!

We couldn't head out for second cut without paying a visit to see Killen Bros. and their new Krone 1180 harvester! 😍 We took the opportunity to bring the Hornet and the Smyth trailer up and even got the Supercube hooked onto the 8s for a day! Jonny Killen chatted to us about what made them take the plunge on the 1180 and other changes with their fleet since we last caught them at silage! What a set up these guys have! 😎💪

Excellent outfit of machines. He has good business sense too, its all about what deal you can get these days and back up, whatever colour machine you buy. It's all about that diesel consumption and keeping those good drivers in the team. It's only going to get more competitive to make a profit.

Oh yes! Killen's running the 420s be good to see. Loving the 8s Massey's from the limited we see. VT crew thou. And what sizes are going to be the go? Its alway the 265 every where? Would love to see a 350hp 1 against a magnum or 8r jd

Pal of mine demo’d an MF 8740S, a Fendt 942 and a Claas Axion 960. According to him the Fendt and Massey were a big disappointment, and the Claas just walked away from them, apparently the Fendt/Massey Vario uses a lot of hydrostatic drive in the field ranges which loses you a lot of power. That was tillage work though, so might be a completely different story for mowing, buck raking or carting grass.

Don’t you have a proper CLAAS dealer nearby? Or is the diesel just free in Ireland? The JAGUAR 990 beats the BIG X 1180 at all times in a head to head match - on performance as well as diesel consumption.
