It is impossible not to imitate this movie. It took everything original. For example the fact that the trucker's face can't be seen( we have also seen this but in different way in Joyride movie series) and all those trucker's cat and mouse playing with our main character( like when he didint let David pass him, and getting away from him while David tryed to catch him on foot) Duel is one of favourites.

One time when my dad and I were driving up to town, a truck driver cut him off (by that, I mean the truck exited the off-rump when we had the right of way) so he barrels past the truck laying on the horn and I spent the rest of the drive paranoid (since I was high) that the trucker driver was gonna come after us thanks to this movie. Never piss off somebody driving a vehicle big enough to crush yours like a soda can.

If you wonder how the truck was able to go so ridiculously fast: In the film, the truck was capable of hauling speeds up to 95 mph thanks to a modified 300 horsepower twin turbo charged Cat-1674 engine with a 13-speed transmission.
