4:20 Hi Federico, (just in case) Have you updated the Digitakt's firmware? Latest firmware for the Digitakt fixes a bug, being that the volume of the external inputs was much too low. Love your channel! Thanks so much for all the inspiring video's...

Nice and minimal 👍🏼 Would love to see you work with longer samples /alternative genres on the DT2. I imagine it exiting to combine euclidean drum sequences with longer free recorded unquantised tracks of external instruments. Creating - let’s say a pop or say shoegaze song. And what happens if you stick the euclidian thing to a drum loop? Nothing or something like the SP404 Scatter effect? Searching these things on KZbin is super annoying. 99% of people seems to be techno heads ;-) Techno is cool, but will the DT2 make songwriters want to tear their hair out? 😂 Alrighty, have a good one 😊

the OS 1.02 update may have fixed the low input gain problem. in the release notes under bugfixes it says: "The external input gain was lower than on the Digitakt I"

is this new avalon you got? I know you had white one. Too pricey for acid synth tbh.

The white one you see in the background. Avalon is worth the 1000$ it was asked for, if you want to have la crème de la crème of 303 bassline. The interface, build quality, sound and extra synthesis (and look at all the in- and outputs) really put it above all other basslines on the market. Don‘t know about higher 2nd hand prices, just that it would be the first kit I would grab in case of fire..

@@el_dani Fair enough. if it works for you, fine. I have lots of gear, I would never sink a grand into this, a single oscillator acid synth. I mean, if you are looking at the dirty acid, get modded 303. if you want "tamed", I am sure I can get any patch on Pro 3 for instance, that can be bought for almost the same price. I personally feel acid shouldn't be creme de la creme, the point in 303 and all other gear from the time is that is absolutely mediocre and limited :) But that's now getting into abstract and my own take on gear so ofc, what works for you doesn't have to work for me and vice versa.

@@earlsfield sure it‘s a very expensive 1 osc synth, but then is the whole hobby. It depends on your preferences, after all you could do everything in the box or let A.I. program the music, but where‘s the fun? The Avalon is a lot of acid fun with rubbery smooth synth tones. I once had a big setup but reduced: better to have less that you really know and quickly get inspiring results

@@el_dani Well I can guarantee you I can get that rubber from Avalon using my Brenso + Belgrad or Aradh. I agree however on scaling down - I ve been producing music for 30+ years and have a lot of gear, but often find myself in a smaller ecosystems where I deliberately want to get certain results with one poly, one drum machine and a small modular rig.

@@earlsfield yeah, but you shouldn‘t bring Eurorack on the table if 1000$ are too much money for an Avalon built by a one man operation 😅 Especially when you ever played with an Avalon: It’s just a sweetspot machine. You can‘t turn wrong as it‘s very easy with Eurorack - later start adding the extra stuff: bring in the sub oscillator, hook up external CV, then the extra envelope, then change the filter character on the fly with the cartridge; and never leave the sweetspot range - I get it if people say: too much for just a bassline but I also understand demand prices for 3000

Elektronauts are bored stuffy old men for the most part. The Avalon bassline is the TB-303 Mk2 that should always have been. It’s an outstandingly constructed piece of hardware. It’s adds greatly to the original 303 without taking anything away. It’s amazing

I’m still waiting for my Avalon which should be on the 4th batch this year, I think there was a transistor missing from the 3rd batch maybe worth checking that

The Avalon is amazing - it’s just that it’s produced by a one man band - Brian - who is a genius but struggles with customer service. But I have never heard anyone say a bad word against this bit of kit. I have one and I love it!
