I always imagined the modular people as like fleshy transformers, as in they can exchange "individuals" between bodies whenever they want. However it's probably easier to have a modular person made up of people with similar personalities when they're just chilling. It also seemed to me like it was implied they're more mature than us and wouldn't not work as 1 due to simple petty squabbles

If the medium is wholesome and happy - the fans like to make something dark and shady about it (My Little Pony gore-y creepypastas, Duolingo owl as a murderer in jokes, etc). I just noticed that.

thanks sm! and i 100% agree with you there, i think their struggles and consequential unity made them by far the wisest out of all the posthumans and they have a very "do no harm take no shit" attitude toward things. Still though, I like to give them a sense of humor and warmth cause I imagine the knowledge of their past gave them a love for the joy of being alive that even their maturity and deep recognition of the worst possible parts of existence can't squander. More than any of the other species i think their's is a story of hope and i think they themselves would recognize that more than anyone🥺👌
