Available for your home in 1995 only on nintendo ultra 64! I love that voice. :D

The home version of the game was scheduled to be released in 1995, but it was delayed in 1996 as Killer Instict Gold because N64 was already in development until it was made to be released that year.
That part was always fire. I stood around in the arcade just to listen to this intro.

That intro has to be the best of all time. The presentation is pure hype. When I was younger I used to just stand there appreciating the graphics.

@@FavianTubeX One could arguably say that X-Men vs Streetfighter is also one of the top intros, but remember KI was at the beginning of commercially successful CG rendered games and it marks a full embrace of a new era.

I still workout to this song in my 30s🤣😂🤣. Bro I'd save my lunch money throughout the week and go hungry because every Friday we went to the bowling alley and I'd play this game. There was a dude there that nobody could beat. If you played against him every match was gonna end with ULTRA! ULTRA! ULTRA! Dude was sick with Orchid🤣🤣😂😂

Can we all just appreciate how *godlike* Rareware’s games were from the 1990’s-2002? Killer Instinct, Killer Instinct 2, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Donkey Kong Country Trilogy, Goldeneye 64, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Battletoads, Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, the list goes on… *God* I wish they never left Nintendo. They’ve been a shell of their former selves since then. :(

Goosebumps every time the beat drops. If there's one thing KI does perfectly, it's atmosphere. Even with the goofy 3D models, clunky animations, odd gameplay style and general jank, this game has a timeless charm. How am I so sure? I never grew up on this game. And I love it.
@Polarcupcheck3 жыл бұрын
You are spot on. I was in my teens when this game dropped, and it felt completely next level. It was like a blend of MK1 and Primal Rage. Totally new school as far as presentation. I never played enough to get good at it, as I walked away from the arcade battles. Plus it was too many games coming out. MKIII in the same year and War Gods in 1996. There was no "game" that everyone was doing.

Actually, I could probably chalk that up to better vocal recording techniques than they had in 1994. Things sound clearer and less compressed than they did 19 years ago. For instance, when they were developing MGS: The Twin Snakes, the devs wanted to just port the audio from the PS1 game but found out that because of the GC's better sound processor, the fact the dialogue had been recorded in a converted apartment would become evident because the traffic from outside could be heard.

Available in 1995 only on Nintendo Ultra 64. We never got it. Neither in name nor capabilities. The engine used in KI wasn't even running on any kind of hardware the Nintendo 64 would eventually feature. So instead they "backport" the game to SNES with extremely limited graphics, sound, and even gameplay in some cases. Nintendo 64 would get "KI Gold", which was a port of KI2, not KI1, which again is a downgrade from the arcade, but not as bad as with the SNES KI. Promises not kept. We never got our KI on "Ultra 64".
