I dunno. I think Cinder's Ultra without the shadow moves is dope. Not shown here but I don't see how him going invisible in the middle of his ultra isn't cool to some people. Maximilian definitely was on BS with his critique, and that's my DOOD

The only classic fighter that I love more than the new one it was more gritty, dark, actually had fatalities this was like a perfect blend of Street Fighter Tekken and MK

look at those action poses, they are all perfect in ki1, the lines of action, the silhouettes, the timings, the arcs, the new ki for xbox made me realize how perfect was every pose in the original one (i dont like the new ones) (im an animator)

I was absolutely obsessed with KI when I was a kid. when I grew up, I ended up "migrating" to mortal kombat and tekken as the "newer" KI games looked... to be honest, ugly and kinda lame and childish. not that the original one wasn't lame in some ways, but... it felt intense. combos felt powerful and rythmic, and it wasn't as over the top. KI gold/ KI 2 looks absolutely atrocious to me. it's hard to even pick the characters from the background, and some of them looks even disturbing. and the xbox one... I know, it had a lot of passion involved, but even so it feels so lifeless. there is something, a sense of aesthetic perhaps, that makes other games so endearing and magnetic. I always thought that this way I feel was just cheap nostalgia, but maybe there's some credit to it. the original KI kinda nailed this sense. it felt immersive, powerful, stylish, in a way that they never were able to replicate, at least for me. wich is a shame. I hope that the franchise gets revived with this approaching fighting game boom. we are probably getting the next mortal kombat, tekken 8, street fighter 6 and project L in the next 24 months. it'll probably be one of the biggest FGC booms yet. and I would LOVE to see a KI title that made me feel that spark again from the original.

When you do a combo breaker you get to do triple juggles and shadow finisher combos. To activate them just press the finisher button before starting the move and release (instead of doing the move and hit the button).

They're easy. Basically you find out the button combination of the ultra for that character. You put that combination in at the end of one of your combos when you're ready. The opponents health bar must be in danger (blinking red) when you perform it. Same with ultimates.

This was the original arcade version. Glacius had those particle effects the SNES didn't have. That said, bear in mind the arcade, and the N64 that game extolled every other second, were made with old school CRT at...360i, not even p, resolution. A lot of those games wind up looking worse on modern screens because of the tricks game developers at the time used to get every inch out of the tech at the time.
