Amapiano is originally from Petori, I first heard it when I went to varsity at TUT in Soshanguve around 2010. I asked and they said it's a Petori sound called 'Bacardi', the sound evolved over the years to what is it today. No disrespect to Kabza de Small he's a great producer but he just took that existing Petori sound to private school.
