The part where he was like “ it’s ok, we’re gonna miss shots”. Is a good mentality to have for a shooter... don’t worry about the shot u missed you’ll have other opportunities

One thing I noticed about the short clips in between of Damien Lillard - was that he makes his jab step directly at the defender, square on. He doesn't jab as if he is going to go around him, he jabs as if he is going to charge into him. I am not sure exactly why, but when someone does that to me as a defender, it is more difficult to defend. I have to run directly out at the defender to get to his shooting hand, rather than to the side, so there it is tougher to get to his shooting hand without fouling, especially since he's leaning back as he shoots. I think there is also a time delay so I can't get out as quickly. For example if you look at the 4:25 mark when Lillard makes that jab, the defender reacts by moving backward for a very small fraction of a second. Then he has to reverse and come forward, causing a delay.

As a hooper I gotta say.. this deserves a lot more views. He breaks up all the body mechanics every step of the way in a way that is easy to understand for anybody. Even if you’ve never hooped before, just follow this video to the tee without rushing any of the steps (very important, don’t get ahead of yourself), you’ll have yourself a killer one dribble step back off a triple threat. Well done man, keep up the good work Dev you earned a sub from me 👊🏽

I was wondering if it's possible to use the "Smitty" instead of the "limp" to lull the defender
@vinuzo95485 жыл бұрын
It's not about lulling the defender. The hop slows you down, when you hit the ground, the rebound energy pushes you faster. Its the change of speed that the limp causes which gets the defender to bite.
