@@ChrisTheAppleOne Regards Celine specifically was because someone (can't recall who) made a comment about it and what I see is someone who, due to the horrible condition & pain she has endured, has taken it's toll; certainly not meant as a criticism but to my eyes it has aged her somewhat more than if she didn't go through that condition. It's a brutal & unforgiving business -- a double edge sword - the need to sing or act & loving the limelight but the downside of what has to be endured can take an awful toll. Thanks.

I highly recommend to watch her documentary only then you fully understand why everyone is so in awe of this performance. She's 56 by the way.

I am a little older than Céline and so proud of my compatriot. We grew up in the 60s and 70s in Charlemagne and Repentigny. Our paternal homes were 2 km away and when she became famous in Quebec at 13, her parents and her sister Claudette were also very well publicized and we met them at the Nickel restaurant which belonged to her or at the shopping center. What a life path she had. I so often passed by the house where she grew up in the car with my parents at the time, without suspecting that behind the walls of this house was hiding a little girl who was going to become an international star. Here in Quebec we are very proud of her.

Hi, I've just sent them the lyrics of this song in French if they want to follow Céline's song and all the English translation, right now.... I also love "Dieu unifie ceux qui s'aiment" that last line, but the one that has ALWAYS torn me apart and made me cry is : "Si un jour la vie t'arrache à moi, si tu meurs que tu sois loin de moi..." " If one day life tears you away from me, if you die may you be far from me..." Edith Piaf wrote this song " L' Hymne à L' Amour " for a man she loved madly , in fact this magnificent and so incredibly moving song is dedicated to Marcel Cerdan, a famous French boxer, the love of her life , who died in a plane crash from Paris to New York where he was scheduled for a boxing competition where he was to face La Motta, but of course to join the woman he loved, Edith Piaf who sang in shows in New York....😪.

She worked SO HARD to get to this point. SPS tried to steal her phenomenal voice. The song ‘L’Hymme d’Amour’ Is an Edith Piaf classic. L’Hymme d’Amour is ‘The Hymn of Love’. It was written for Edith Piaf’s husband. Edith Piaf is a French cultural icon. To even be asked to sing one of her songs is an honor. This song was written for her husband right after Edith found out he died in a plane crash. The song is about her deep and abiding love for her husband, Pierre. Celine’s husband, Rene, who she was married to for 21 years, died after a second battle with cancer. They have 3 kids. Their oldest was 15, and the twins were 5 when their dad died. She’s been chasing the symptoms of this rare disability for almost 2 decades, and it almost ended her career. I’m so proud of her.

Dieu réunit ceux qui s'aiment....... EDITH PIAF SONG " HYMN TO LOVE " The blue sky over us may well collapse And the earth may well collapse I don't care, if you love me I don't care about the world As long as love floods my mornings As long as my body trembles under your hands I don't care about problems My love, if you love me I'd go to the ends of the earth I'd have my hair dyed blonde If you asked me I'd go get the moon I'd steal your fortune If you asked me I would deny my country I would deny my friends If you asked me I'd be laughed at I would do anything If you asked me If one day life rips you away from me If you die, if you're far from me I don't care if you love me Because I would die too We'll have eternity to ourselves In the blue of immensity In the sky, no more problems My love, do you think we love each other ? God reunites those who love each other.... ❤🧡💛💚💙💜❤💛💚💙💜❤

The neurological condition Stiff Person Syndrome is severely debilitating & painful, something she has been dealing w-for many yrs. She said it took about 7 yrs. until it was discovered, it is that rare. It has aged her quite a bit. This song was written by French singer Edith Piaf in 1949 when the love of her life, boxer Marcel Cerdan, died in a plane crash & sent her into a deep depression.

Absolutely, Marcel Cerdan, a famous French boxer, the love of her life died in a plane crash from Paris to New York where he was scheduled for a boxing competition where he was to face La Motta, but of course to join the woman he loved, Edith Piaf who was singing in shows in New York....😪

Dude do your homework. She's 56 and she's singing Edith Piaff's song Hymne A L'Amour
@Killermcknight5 ай бұрын
When you watched this live on television did you do your homework? This was our first impressions and I'm afraid doing the homework would have ruined the experience. Especially when you Google Celine Dion Olympics you get nothing but drama over lip syncing. I don't like ruining our naive experience just because I don't know how old a celebrity is or what song in a completely different language she's singing in. You assume I care enough and all we ever try to do is watch a video on the internet.

I am so tired of hearing these so called self declared experts who pretend with absolutely no credentials she was doing mimics and that was not a live performance.
@Killermcknight5 ай бұрын
We never said anything about her not being genuine and I agree with you because that was never even a thought when we watched this performance. It's being stated almost to ruin an experience and I hate that some people want to ruin someone else's experience. Especially, ours! We're not a vocal couch channel or subject matter experts I really don't care! I'm right there with you brother!

@@Killermcknight I was not accusing you was speaking about other channels...she was live... Just because they might post here because they go everywhere to discredit Dion. Send you the article denying it was playback. Thanks for sharing.

I just replied to a guy regarding this matter, anyone who has any knowledge about vocal processing can tell you this was not pre recorded lip syncing or any of that non sense. Some people just like to watch the world burn and will use anyone as a target to do so and should be ashamed.
