Diana is a natural dramatic contralto. This is the lowest range for a female singer. She is also polyphonic. Roughly, this means that when she sings she often sounds like more than one person singing at once. As you can imagine, the combination is extraordinary. So too is her full range. This is probably just a technical misunderstanding of what reverb is, but TV shows like this nearly always add reverb to prevent the performances from sounding acoustically dead. Reverb has nothing at all to do with Diana's true polyphonic voice. This performance was shot on the large Mosfilm motion picture soundstage. If they didn't have any reverb on the audio, it would sound really weird. Without reverb, it would sound like Diana was singing in a broom closet. They always add enough reverb to make the sound match the visual environment.

Diana has polyphonic capabilities which I have read, allows her to sing multiple notes at the same time and is a true RARE contralto. Her story is heartbreaking but has a happy ending. As a child whose drug-addicted mother attempted to drown her in the bathtub, then left her in the snow, in the streets of Russia with a broken arm, to fend for herself at the age of 4, she was unable to speak. Her now, foster mom or adoptive mom, took her to speech therapy, which included yodeling and Diana found her voice, the rest is history. She reminds me of the mythical Siren whose singing voice was so hypnotic, it led sailors to their death. FYI Dimashes friend IGOR took her under his wing.

Эта пара была похожа в тот момент на пассажиров самолёта, стоящих у открытого люка и готовящихся к прыжку с парашютом. Они ещё не уверены, что этот прыжок состоится; у них уже захватывает дух от высоты и мощного потока воздуха; но вот наступает кульминационный момент - и они как будто летят вниз, выброшенные из этого самолёта звучанием этого невероятного голоса. С парашютом, конечно же, с парашютом. Они благополучно приземлятся и долго будут переводить дух. Но вот это ощущение внезапного попадания в мощный, стремительный поток, которому невозможно сопротивляться, ощущение полёта, от которого захватывает дух - у них останется надолго. Большинство тех, кто это послушал - ещё не раз захотят повторить эти незабываемые ощущения. Это именно то, зачем, по большому счёту, и работает любой настоящий артист: вызвать у вас незабываемые, ни с чем не сравнимые ощущения - и заставить вновь и вновь к ним возвращаться...

Wonderful reaction! Diana is called the "Queen of Goosebumps". This performance was from a Russian show that aired in the fall of 2021, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course of the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles. Another song to listen to: The song is Bopoha (Varona) - The Crow, and is from the same show she was participating in. It is in the category "Pop Hit". BTW, a "white crow" in Russian is someone who stands out from everyone else, in a positive way. This is Diana's voice, it sure took you long to discover the best female vocalist on the planet currently. She is phenomenal, she was 18 years old in this performance and she is 20 now. You have never heard a voice like hers and you will probably never will, the lows are her natural tones as she is a Contralto moreover a polyphonic contralto (the two voices you heard.) but she can also go astronomically high thanks to her huge range, this performance is just a warm up you have a lot to discover. As a side note It is a pity though that you decided to react to the pirated video this dude has stolen millions of views from Diana, it is one thing to not know that she has the original video on her own channel but to know it and still watch this one man you should do better than this.

Great reaction! Diana is the real deal and has been in various competitions in Russia. Listen to her when she was 14 to 16 yo. Wicked Game, Human, Rechenka, Dernier Danse. She always had the low contralto tones and polyphonic ability. She has worked hard to develop her higher tones and now sounds even more skilled. She was 18 yo singing this. I can't wait to hear how she sounds in 5 or 6 years. Read her early life story to really find how how she has succeeded already in life at 20 yo.

Very well said my friend! Her voice is very, very deep, but somehow is lacking gender: I would say that is neither masculine, nor feminine (when she is singing with a deep belt). That's probably why almost everyone associates her with an alien based on her vocal capabilities. I consider her the Voice of God!

Yes, she's an alien like Dimash and Marcin Patrzalek (who is a guitarist). A few of them are among us. 😁 Diana has the most unique voice I've heard so far. Look up "polyphonic overtone singing". This is what she can do to produce those interesting sounds.

Diana is a unicorn as there are very few "dramatic contralto" (deepest register for female singers) female singers around. Imagine if she and Dimash do a duet! I wouldn't be surprised as Igor Krutoy is working with both of them. She's only 18 in this performance. Definitely go down that rabbit hole. She's a superstar!

I would recommend you react to her live performance “Rise like a Phoenix” which should put to rest about back tracking. I’ve been a long time fan. She has numerous covers and many live performances. She actually does her own sound check and makes certain her vocals are never too loud..I believe she withdraws and controls her level of polyphonic herself. She’s absolutely 💯 Incredible. We've all been there. My first time was with her cover of Wicked Game, I had to stand up and get my wits about me about half way through. It's been 30 years since I heard a good contralto but this is exceptional. She has many genres and she rewrites and reveals great emotion and incredible beauty in each song. There's no one like her.
