The guy who ruined the concert was the guy behind the console/mixing desk. He had an excellent equipment in front of him an set a pitiful sound. Geordie did many requests to modify the setting but the guy behind the console didn't want to change. I would be interested to know how would have react Kurt Cobain, Hendrix, Motorhead, Manson and many others who live their music when you destroy their sound. Having met him frequently the last few years I can say Geordie is a really cool guy.

I got back stage with Killing Joke in 2003. Sat chatting to them for over an hour about this and that.. Talking mostly about having kids. Growing up. Bands we listened too. You couldn't honestly meet a greater bunch of guys. Sat next to Geordie for a good while. Really nice bloke. But if you push someone far enough. You get what you get.

Having seen KJ, I know they are a band you really don't wanna fuck with.

I've met Geordie very briefly and while he was cordial and polite, there's something about him that really gives that vibe. Would be interested to see what would happen if Geordie found him after...

Me and 2 friends were right behind the sound equipment. At one point, a guy (blond haired if I remember correctly) in front of us started booing the band and showing middle fingers. A few minutes later he walked to the front left of the stage, and continued his bullying right in front of Geordie. I couldn't see if he is was the one throwing the beer on stage, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was.

Some asshole threw beer at Geordie which ultimately hit his pedalboard. He has some rare pedals there which are no longer produced at all. Probably that's why he got mad at the crowd & the stage manager for not doing anything to stop it.

The guy in the shorts is Diamond Dave and the launched bottle was intended for the stage monitor guy who was fuckin' up the sound on stage totally....

Thanks for showing the aftermath (seen here on Chop Chop.) I did get a sense that this tour was troubled. The band came close to falling out here. Or maybe its business as usual.

I don't know, really because usually the crowd at Roadburn is very open minded and a lot of people there are into all sorts of different genres such a post-punk. I think the way the crowd acted was more of a reaction to KJ's behaviour rather than the other way around. Also the next band that day was Ulver who played a set of 60's rock song covers, so that hardly qualifies as "long haired head bangers" ;) Having said that, I still loved every minute of KJ's set.

I'd say business as usual. KJ have played thousands of concerts during their career. KJ would've experienced every fuck up known to man. I think KJ are playing here at a metal festival & it's not really KJ's crowd. I have the impression the crowd are waiting for long haired head bangers to come on & KJ can't wait to get the fuck out of there. I saw KJ In Melb, Australia in 2004. A guy was giving Raven grief from the front & he almost dived off stage & killed the guy. Great gig.

I really regret everything involved in this moment of the gig. Maybe this wasn't the venue for the band or maybe I didn't get it but it ruined completely the end of the gig. TO begin with I hate when they throw things at the band if not asked..

He seemed to totally lose it - Geordie was tipping monitors over before anything was thrown though (I think, or maybe I missed something)- massive hissy fit
