A Soul , Blues , and R&B no. it was released originally in 1973 , composed by Charles Fox with lyrics by Norman Gimbal and Lori Lieberman.
Flack released her version of the song in 1973 under the Album - ‘Killing Me Softly’ with producer - Joel Dorn under the label - Atlantic Records. It topped the charts all-over making it no.1 hit.
It reached no.3 on the Billboard Top LP’s Tape and no.2 on the Soul LP’s chart. The song was nominated for Grammy Award under the category - Album of the year. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 and won the 1974 Grammy Award for - Record of the Year.
