how good is gon? gon never had any training but is able to catch up to killua in just a few months. while killua had training ever since he was born.

I have not read the source material so take this with a grain of salt; Gon has a greater ceiling of potential than Killua, so ofc he would catch up to Killua pretty fast. Gon might not have trained as Killua, but he has been the outdoorsy type since birth...so he probs had a substantial amount of stamina when meeting Killua and as such only needed strength training before learning Nen.

@@AkatsukiSakiya Gon and Killua have similar potential and Killua is ahead of Gon in fighting ability throughout the show, but not by a large amount. Gon has more power than Killua and a much simpler fighting style, so years of training aren't needed he mostly relies on intuition.

Well, Gon is more like Hisoka, he's in for the game. Killua is more like Illumi, he's in for the kill. Gon never caught with Killua (save for that one time), but he will always have the opportunity of keep growing at a steady pace, or even an accelerating one. Killua's growth pace slows down the stronger he gets, and it will do so at least until he reaches the potential that his lifelong training bestowed him.

Still killua is ahead of gon. Agreed gon's potential is immense and he is also almost caught up with killua but there are some things which gon can never achieve without training. Like resisting immense amounts of voltage which killua can do pretty easily (cause of training), silent footsteps etc.
