I feel when artist are independent, we can hear more of an “authentic” or their “original” sound. Once artist get signed, the sound changes. The flow, the content. Look at ABG Neal, Da Baby, 21 savage, don’t get me started with The Weeknd… like I do love that they get the recognition they deserve and that once signed, the reach of audience is incredible! But artist do tend to lose the raw, melodic flow we fell in love with from the beginning. Like I wish more people appreciated Killy, but I’m happy he’s staying to his roots right now and his original sound.
