So long as you could concede that the DS2 kiln is the most...literal.

guys how is ds2 related to 1 and 3 I'm so confused, are there more than 1 kiln or wtf is the throne of want? help
@lsfaraone6 жыл бұрын
Sven DS2 isn't that related in only that the power of Lords is spread across four individuals, whose power must be acquired to fuel the act of Rekindling. History of DS1 has been long past and forgotten in the kingdom of Drangleic, with assumption and slight evidence towards that Drangleic is built upon what was once Lordran. And as far as the three Kilns, I've always seen it as the Kilns and the Throne of Want are all built upon where the First Flame happens to be at that point in history, with plenty of time for new things to appear when you consider each game is supposedly at least millenia apart.

I'm still trying to make out how the DS3 Kiln of the first Flame is this one There's nothing that looks the same I know hundreds of years have passed but still I mean you could still make out the DS1 Firelink Shrine at the Demon Prince boss fight The well is there and the ruins But I don't see even a small part from DS3 resembling this place from DS1 No matter how often I look around both
@Monyato3 жыл бұрын
@@ImWhyMortalsCry anor Londo? Btw the flame is getting weaker so that’s why nations and kingdoms that are supposed to be in different times suddenly merge together, look at the ringed city in DS3 and the starting area in the ringed city is a broken down lothric.

I still have so many questions about so many places in DS 1, like what they were before, etc. Sadly, none of them will ever be answered

And maybe thats a good thing. The games already has a ton of lore, which i find way too hard to get into my head. So I kinda like to just enjoy the mysteries, without desiring the answers.

For some reason Kiln of the First Flame seems similar to the Tower of Babel for me.
@padorosbankai95415 жыл бұрын
you stupid we dont know how it looked like if it even existed

It's definitely based on the famous painting of the Tower of Babel by Pieter Bruegel.

I want to see those walls around the kiln, they're so strange, as if the kiln was a huge cathedral before the rekindling...
@CrestfallenChannel8 жыл бұрын
They may be normal walls but its like they are inclined to the center
@RedstoNeman08 жыл бұрын
***** yes, it reminds me of the structures used in roman architecture to hold a dome... and they're made of stone, but the kiln is clearly molten iron beams... (or if it's molten stone then the rekindling actually made the air solid during it...) so much questions...
@RedstoNeman08 жыл бұрын
+Crestfallen (Haunter) and I just realised that the "explosion"? which melt the kiln came from the south, not from the kiln's center, and it happened after the kiln was actually a ruin... this place will never be explained...
@CrestfallenChannel8 жыл бұрын
Why you think that?
@RedstoNeman08 жыл бұрын
***** look at the direction of the melt parts, more specificaly the one you can walk on to get to the central area, and for the fact it's already a ruin before the explosion most of the ones lying on the ground only have the "melt" effect on their south-facing part. this is probably just a detail about how old the kiln is really, showing a bit of the cycles.
@francismcalister78117 жыл бұрын
Say what you want, the architecture still reminds me of the tower of Latria from Demon's Souls
@thegucc5934 жыл бұрын
yeah i can totally see that. i wish we had more areas with this kind of architecture in the souls series
@lennysmileyface8 жыл бұрын
So it's built above a giant tree? Was the tree used as kindling?
@aromardu7 жыл бұрын
I think it's the remains of the tree where the First Flame erupted inside. The one we see in the prologue. The camera goes inside of a hole in it and follows the embers down to the cave space where the Flame is.

+aromardu it's also what the lordvessel at the altar is meant to represent. pretty cool
@lsfaraone6 жыл бұрын
Perhaps so, representing the world as the Norse mythology did with Yggdrasil,the Tree of Life. Funnily enough, with Dark Souls 3 in mind, the tree represented with Yggdrasil is the Ash tree. And at least in DS2, the image of Yggdrasil shows up in several places.

What exactly was the Kiln of the first flame? It seems like an ancient fortress or it was simply the place where the first flame was stored? Or it was the place where the Fire lit up for the first time and the fortress was build to contain it? And why can we see that grey sky, weren't we underground?

how much similarity did u find between this and DSIII's kiln area ?
@dreadknight07 жыл бұрын
You can find those melted pilars and if you notice, the kiln is over an Arch tree in dark souls 1 and dark souls 3. Because the flame came from the inside of one of the arch trees, you can see it in the cinematic of Dark Souls 1

The First Flame is what powers all light and life in the world, as it split formless Whatever into actual Stuff. If it goes out, life as the people of the world know it goes with it.
@2401blue3 жыл бұрын
Of course, later games make plain that the continuation of the fire continues a great curse on all living beings, and life as they know it might be better off ended and what remains of the flame, or the idea of life and life, saved for another age rather than an unnatural extension of an older one.
