Standing is so much better! I used to be so crippled from sitting all day! I find I shift my position a lot more when I stand and never get sore! I do stand on a shock absorber Matt!

hey Lisa!! Love this video...I'm with you on the body aches and pains..yoga is such a great thing to adapt into our practice. I've been thinking of propping my wheel up so that I'm not sitting. and a second wheel would be a fantastic addition! So great that you were able to omit 2x firing and got great results with a cone 016...I may try that for the future. Thanks again for sharing...love what you do!

I’ve been going through a bunch of my vintage decals to use but they are so old I’m afraid they might have different firing temps. They don’t say on most of them!! Omg that first fox mug is gorgeous!! I absolutely love all of these. The blue hydrangea combo is absolutely perfect for a night sky!! I don’t throw but I have seen someone who started standing to throw and it was a woman who was also concerned about being able to put herself into the wheel enough while throwing so she put her wheel facing outward and had the wall behind her so she could brace herself against it. Worked great for her. Thanks so much. These are all just amazing. ❤❤❤

I started standing while throwing because of a tail bone issue and wouldn’t go back to sitting. I have a soft mat under my feet, a mirror in front and a half of a pool noodle split so it fits over the splash pan rim. It has been so much better for my back and hips, and I like that I can move around more freely. However I don’t throw large items- the biggest thing I throw is a four lb bowl. I love your work, thanks for the lovely eye candy!

The decals turned out amazing , Lisa! I especially liked the gnomes, Santa’s, and the foxes you showed near the end of the video. Um, I think that’s just about everything, lol. I hear you about body aches and pains. My lower back hurt before I started making pottery. Anything repetitive tends to wear our parts down. Maybe you could try a different way of making or some combination. Like altered wheel thrown forms. I loved the leaf platter you did awhile back. Just a thought so you don’t have to buy another wheel unless you just want to. Liana

I switched to a standing wheel about a year ago,due to back issues and it’s so much better. I don’t throw super big things, but definitely try it. My husband made a stand for it.

Love these and I have a whisper wheel from Tucker’s I had someone build a wood box like structure and my wheel sits on it so the pedal has space as well and I can stand and throw or I have a chair with a back that is taller used for bars and it is the perfect height if I want to sit and the base has space for my feet- if this makes any sense lol. And it’s much easier standing with large pieces. And thanks to you I ended up buying those foxes and hearts and I already have a drawer of decals - damn lol

I realized Decals (not "deecals") was a regional thing. But what about "Gnomees"? 😊 In US we say Gnomes, like Homes. Beautiful mugs!!!!!!!! Do you glaze over the decals with Zinc Free clear ?
