Kiln Unloading (Finally!)

We know it’s been a while, and we promised you another video as soon as we could get one recorded - here you go! There are some goodies in this kiln load and there are also some extremely helpful test tiles with a variety of glaze combos.
If anyone has any helpful advice regarding the Azurite, please let us know (it’s getting frustrating). FYI - the original Azurite was given to us and we don’t know for sure that it was a Mayco glaze.

Make sure you go to Wales too, they have lots of castles and an interesting accent. I stayed near the famous golf course in Saint Andrew’s. It’s best to book everything ahead,of time online. Had to take a bus , train, a smaller bus…once we arrived at our hotel/ hostel in Edinburgh things were great but I remember having to walk from the airport to he bus line with all our luggage in the rain. There was no cover overhead and make sure you have the right change for the bus. I almost was left. If you plan ahead you’re going to love it!

Great kiln opening. So glad you tested the glazes!! So many people just go for it. I like the new Mayco micro line but was surprised that so many weren’t food safe!! LOVE THE BIG BOWLS!!! May I suggest, to help the top and bottom shelf even out try and stagger half shelves all the way to the top so the heat isn’t trapped on a certain shelf. This really helped me get a more even heat throughout the kiln!!

Love the kiln unload! Congrats on your upcoming trip. You definitely need to visit the Highlands in Scotland!! Fort Augustus is a great location to stay and take day trips from. It’s right on Loch Ness and beautiful! We stayed in the Caledonian Canal Center Airbnb. We highly recommend it!

Don’t rule out renting a room at universities. Low cost and nice plus usually free breakfast in the cafeteria
