@@amiyatype5985 that's not true. & I'm not that new. I'm 40 & I've been m.o.m & a vocal coach for 20 yrs. That's like jerry west was one of the 1st to play basketball, but he ain't the best..by far. With that being said Kim Burrell runs circles around any Clark sister. It's Kim Burrell, leandria Johnson & zacardi Cortez that got this music on lock. Clark sisters are good (dorinda is the best), but Kim beezy is much better. Now pick ur lil Mic back up & tuck yo tail.

LEGENDARY vocalist. But when you're a full time pastor with a voice like that, your vocal chords become stressed. Her and Dorinda both have that same stressed rasp in their voices. Hard working women
@emanx2222 жыл бұрын
Kim's isn't as stressed, she generally switches between chesty raspy upper belts and crystal clear mixed belts quite often. That's why she cab belt a G#5 comfortably while Dorinda struggles to stay up there
@reggiemitchell5198 Жыл бұрын
The difference between them is dorinda belts all her notes up to A5 in chest. Her mix is more heady almost sounding like falsetto. She mixed a Bb5 in one of the clark songs and she belted a slight Bb5 in a live version of take it back. Kim being technically trained mastered that part of her voice.
@seanjenkins331 Жыл бұрын
@@reggiemitchell5198 I clearly don't know as much about music as u do. But what do u think about my point regarding her rasp
@reggiemitchell5198 Жыл бұрын
@@seanjenkins331 the rasp has always been there and its softer than dorinda because that mixing technique and it’s not as stressed as dorindas. I don’t know where her rasp came from but it sounds more like clear distortion than anything. Dorinda when she was younger before the early 90s had the same distortion in her voice. Around 95 and 96 it got harder and heavier and her voice became a little more huskier. It was because of the heavy preaching along with the Constant singing.
@reggiemitchell5198 Жыл бұрын
@@seanjenkins331 also when dorindas voice isn’t in the best condition or she not rested and hoarse, her rasp is very hard and stressed.
