This song is such a calming and anointed song. I can't believe it's been nearly 20 years since I first bought this cd. I think people are not used to seeing or experiencing people just sitting still during a gospel "performance". I think there is something to still be said about sitting still and HEARING and ENJOYING a song. It's a lost art with the audiences now having their recording phones in the air and hooping and hollering at the singers. When we're in the presence of the Lord we're not always doing a lot of stuff. It's quietness and stillness.

Bought the cd. Cried and worshipped when I first heard this song. Kim didn't get a lot of air time back then so these gems went underground. Girlfriend is gifted..crosses many genres to deliver deep penetrating vocals.

This women is legendary for consciously allowing melodies to flow from ones perspective! I can believe how far she has grown! If you watch her 2019 Gospel Radio Awards performance. Her range is psychotic & the way she bends melodies & her runs are more clearer & intricate now!

Ok, I heard this a billion times and every time I find something I love and find interesting, the way Shaun Martin plays strings and how they compliment Jimane’s fender Rhodes keys like floating on clouds in Heaven. I saw Michael Bereal play strings behind Kevin Bond when they were playing Manifest with Bishop Jakes choir, and on You are God Alone by Marvin Sapp, again match made in Heaven. There is something awesome about when one musician is focusing on playing keys and then another musician is focusing on strings and compliments what the guy on keys is doing. That was wonder carryover from the 90’s into the early 2000’s which I say to this day still cannot be duplicated. Now it’s common place for a musician to be layer everything, horns, strings, organ, and unless you can do it right it still won’t sound the same as this but it might cost less money. It’s amazing to say now this video is now over 20 years old, it’s seems like yesterday but this performance is truly timeless, you can play this in 2121 and “Kim Burrell Live in Concert” will still remain an incredible underrated body of work, a heavy game changer in the history of gospel music
