Kim Dotcom NZ firework!

2011 fireworks by Kim Dotcom gifted to Auckland, New Zealand.
This US$ 500,000 fireworks display of 10 minutes (video showing the best parts of 3:41 minutes) was funded by Kim Dotcom in celebration of Immigration New Zealand granting residency to the Dotcom family. It was the largest fireworks display in New Zealand history. Kim Dotcom and his wife watched the event from a Helicopter just 200 meters away from the explosions. Exciting stuff.

The thing I love about Dotcom is that he helps the community. he's so generous with his money and time. I do not believe that he is a criminal, all he did was simply create a website where people could upload their personal files, it wasn't his intention for people to illegally download.

The recent London New Year fireworks alone costs us the same as your display with 5500 trriggers and were set to soundtrack by BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal in GPS control so they could be timed to the music. I'm a New Zealander in NZ, and I don't agree with what the New Zealand Police did by getting on their knees and sucking America's phallus taking Mr Kim Schultz out. I'm ashamed, after all in late 2010 Schultz gave us this awesome fireworks display. He spends a lot of cash in NZ. And furthermore often Megaupload takes down copyrighted materials all on it's own. NZ should have said 'if you want to arrest him, use your resources to do it'.

I only realised last year that Kim dotcom was the genius behind megaupload. It did become better than rapidshare it wasn't at first though. Relaunch megaupload in China with a pornography filter and you will have a winner but you may have already thought of this. Carpathia hosting give the megaupload account holders private access to their files back so they can either upload to new hosts or their own hard drives.

Cheers Kim for putting this show on for us. Although this is something that a city like Auckland should do every year anyway. Many Kiwis don't realise this but every year NZ gets free advertising on networks around the world for NYE and many of them tune out after 10-12 seconds of seeing the usual pathetic display. I just hope that the standard YOU have set will make the Auckland Council and NZ Govt think more about promoting our fine city. NZ is the First for NYE, let's capitalise on it.
