Iswaran had done wrong, but corruption cannot be so easily proven in this case. To prove corruption, it must be proven without reasonable doubt that A had given gifts or other benefits to B, and B must or must have done something in specific that would further A's interest to the detriment of others. Law is law.

I honestly do not think Iswaran was “corrupt” per se considering the tiny financial amount of the “gifts” he had received and there was no evidence that he had done anyone, any favors. This man is a millionaire with the highest official salary in the world as a politician. However, it’s More likely that he had overlooked the importance of declaring those gifts…

@@teeteetuu94 He cleared his name on receiving gifts with no returned favours so AG only charged him with receiving gifts which he admitted. By the way, he paid the amount of the gifts were worth and returned them to the state for auction. That means the state has double of the amount. That we must salute him for that kind of integrity.
