Hi Kim, good to see you! | missed your recent vids even though I'm subscribed to the channel. No biggie, good to hear you're doing TV work that you enjoy. I so recognize the "now I am doing one thing that I really like but all the other things just stop" because that's how I've been living my entire life. I'm reminded of a co-worker who once told me "I don't have hobbies, I just have things that I am enthusiastic about for a couple of weeks". I've been thinking off and on about ADHD meds (I've recently been diagnosed) but I find that quite scary - in some ways I'm quite happy with how my brain works, and I'm not too fond of the idea of messing with that. How I'm doing? I'm quite lonely, to be honest. I'm living on my own and after a brief respite due to lockdown measures being lifted last september, everything is locked down again due to massive COVID spikes (who would have thought!). Recently I've been watching some of your vids again - especially your "between wednesdays" vids help relieve some of the loneliness - it's like I'm part of your group of friends for a little bit, and that helps.

ADHD meds suck! You go from being vibrant and energetic to just bluuuhh... I stopped taking my meds 17 years ago, best decision of my life!
@OhItsJustKim4 жыл бұрын
fyi it can be pretty damaging and contribute to a lot of stigma and shame to make blanket statements like that. not every ADHD medication will work for everyone. I was on meds for a year or so and my experience was awful but I've since learned that I was clearly on the wrong dose. Many people I know took the exact same dose of the same medication as me and their lives were completely transformed with almost zero side effects. I'm sorry you had a negative experience but it's important to remember that this is the human brain we're dealing with. We all respond so so differently to things. The same vastly contrasting stories have been cited for antidepressants but that doesn't make them worthless.

@@OhItsJustKim I didn't mean to offend you or anything, I was just speaking about my own experience with them, and how they affected me. Also, what's the name of the show you were talking about? I love watching British TV shows and movies, and unless you go looking for it they don't really teach us much about you guys here in the States. Just about pilgrims, the Revolutionary War and nothing else. So I find it interesting to learn about your culture and other things that you guys like! It would be really cool if you could make some more videos showing us around the U.K. too! I love watching your travel videos! Looking forward to watching that show you were talking about! Hopefully I can find it on Netflix!

Always good to hear you calling things out lol. And talking about the specifics of your ADHD. People talking about their stuff has helped me at least as much as my Dr. and is nearly infinitely more accessible lol. For anyone looking for ADHD strategies and such I'd recommend "how to ADHD" here on KZbin. That's kinda their whole thing and I've found them very helpful.

I've been struggling with my ADHD the last two or so weeks quite badly and was wondering if I needed to up my meds or if this is just burnout? Or is it burnout because I need to up my meds? In any case, your video made me remember I'm not the only person dealing with ADHD in a global pandemic and work and life and having clean clothes... so thank you

2020 has felt like absolutely madness. These videos and the ones on your channel have been a continuous comfort though. I know that in this time it's been an overwhelming struggle living with a mental illness myself, but here is a friendly reminder..... Forgive yourself. Everyone drops the ball some days. Everyone has moments when they feel like nothing they have ever done is good enough. When you feel that way, reach out to others like use. We will help pick you up, dust you off, and remind you that life must go on. Together we all can hopefully make it a happy one.
