I've been fascinated by the history of the Korea for years and it has a long and complicated history and the North is so insane under the Kim's rule and I've noticed that each new ruler seems nuttier than the last. I feel so sorry for the North Korean people but I've given up on worrying what will happen if Kim Jung Un decides to throw down with the United States, South Korea, and Japan. Really would be the end of his family's rule and so much death across all of Korea. US can't impose its regime and ideology on every place in the world where it thinks the regime is bad. Such a policy is what basically defines international dictatorship. Surely the US has done what you are thinking of multiple times in history. Some countries have been destroyed and still remember the American invasions as worst days of their history, only because they had ideologies different than those of the US. If you think that US conquering all non-democratic countries and banning any kind of autocracy there would make everyone happy it is probably as you have been raised in a democratic regime. US should stop looking at itself as the world policeman. The principles of its ideology are by no means what defines universality.

By definition, an autocrat is a leader who demands the complete obedience of their people. All of the most developed countries in the world are democracies, and most failed economies are autocracies, how would you explain this? Calling a democratically elected government a "regime" is an absolute joke. The thing is, even though some invasions are hard to justify, countries tend to be better off after US intervention, as was seen in Germany, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, etc. Afghanistan was well on its way to democracy and fair rule of law before the weak Afghan government fell to the Taliban when America pulled out. Now with the Taliban in charge of Afghanistan, the country is doing worse than ever, in terms of human rights, economic development, equality, etc. The thing is, most of the world wants the US as the global policeman because someone needs to keep these authoritarians from starting wars, as we see constantly, like Russia towards Ukraine, Hamas by proxy of Iran towards Israel, Venezuela towards Guyana, North Korea towards South Korea, and mainland China towards Taiwan.

Not likely, because we have already seen this scenario. China can’t afford a war on the Korean Peninsula. That is a direct land border of 840 miles long. North Koreans would likely take it as an opportunity to flee to China. The mass migration would decimate the Chinese economy. China would have to deploy troops to the border to keep Koreans out at a minimum. A combined Korea would be a direct threat to China. China would have to force a quick truce or have to enter to back North Korea like it did last time.
