You’re right! When I loved music most, back then the album would be released, and a song from that album would be chosen as the first single. Then, promotion of the album was literally slowly dropping follow up music videos of 2-3 other songs on the album. They were giving from an already completed body of work. Now, however, artists put out a song to catch quick attention then they throw that single on a project to try to get people to listen to the album. But, the song is so out of place on the album. Not much energy put into a well laid out album these days 😔

I'm also an artist myself, so this is all very interesting to watch. Your comment reminds me of what's happening with Chloe Bailey and Normani. People have BEEN asking Normani to put out the album, but she hasn't. Chloe's been putting out consistent singles at least (unlike Normani), but Chloe just told us that she doesn't even know when her album is gonna come out. I think that people have given Chloe a persona that she never chose, which is the good girl church vibe, and now that she’s trying to do things on her own and try different things everyone is saying it’s forced. I love Chloe and Halle, and I want to see them win so badly. The Kids Are Alright and Ungodly Hour are amazing albums. That being said, I just feel like Chloe maybe should have started smaller because people wanted more ChloexHalle before they wanted solo music. Have Mercy being her solo debut, especially given the mainstream sound, is most likely the main reason it was so successful compared to her later releases. I also cannot speak for anyone else, but I personally prefer ChloexHalle's more alternative, unique R&B sound compared to Chloe's more pop sound. An EP to gauge public interest in her solo music probably would have been better than going for a full album right away since she's still a relatively new solo artist. And like Empressive said, Halle and Chloe are a force together.

Chloe is three singles in at this point. As much as people like to claim her music is fire, it’s not and she hasn’t found her stride yet. Chloe has a lot of resources and experience in the industry so it’s surprising to me that she didn’t put out music with more substance. I’m not a big fan of Chloe music she’s a beautiful girl.. I’ve known about her since fighting temptations when she played as Beyoncé younger character in the movie...I just feel like she do entirely to much for me like every other song is just overly sexual.. like her dancing in stripper outfits .. & or most of her songs is always in relates to sex... I agree with you. I think that Chloe's sexuality is a little forced. I don't think she's came into her full sexuality as a woman just yet.. And that's okay. I think the biggest problem is that chloe tried to go solo too quickly. The duo chloe and Halle just got attention with their most recent album together, and then out of nowhere you’re going solo? add to the fact that her image isn’t genuine either, ungenuine solo attempt and ungenuine image, it also didn’t help that she was getting pit against normani and replacing her in live award shows, and colorism happening there.

I think both sisters are incredibly talented, but Halle is the star amongst the two. I don't like Chloe's music either. It feels like she's trying too hard to keep up with the Cardi's and Meg's of the industry.
