I just love how the writers made Hyejin's character breaking all the stereotypes that girls can't be ahead first in a relationship, especially in confessing and proposing part. Her straightforwardness made her more charming!!! love the proposal part the most!!! I cant believe that this is goodbye Like the last episode has come. I am gonna miss this drama so freaking much. I haven't felt this sad at farewell since I watched true beauty. This drama is too good! Many lessons to be learnt. Family, friendship, respect, responsibility, honesty, love, passion and much more!!! Will definitely recommend others to watch this drama

This is definitely not the case in Asian culture, as Koreans never address their parents or the elderly by first name. What's funny here is that Hye Jin remembered Du Sik's reference and she's literally mimicking him 😂

All of my family members watched this drama...I am in Bangladesh, my sister in law and nieces in Manchester, and Germany...so we watched in different countries and in different timeframes , some said it was a bit slow ..but all loved Dushik no matter what. I think it's a great compliment to Kim Seon Ho...every one everywhere mostly liked him, his house, the production. I wish Kim soen ho gets grand award for this. This is my most favorite drama for the time being

It's actually the general translation in english, because the rough translation could have been just "you called your mother and father in law by their name" which refers that hong banjang treat elderly like his friends, so I think the subtitle match perfectly to the metaphor, just opinion 🤘🏻

@@Catty693 this might be a long comment but bear with me 😅 so basically honorifics are a big deal in korea. they cannot simply talk down or talk casually to anyone or they might come off as rude or impolite. however, dusik has this principle that it's better to be like how westerners do it. like how they casually just call each other by their first names. so the line goes "[in other countries] they just call their fathers-in-law by their name like "Tom!" and their mothers-in-law "Mary!"" if you can remember, this is the same line dusik said to hyejin when they were in the sauna when hyejin asked him why he keeps talking down to her despite the fact that they just met and are not even close at that time. now hyejin just repeated it to him because she said that she understands his principles, but her friends may not so she asked him to use honorifics just this once in front of her friends. i hope this helps! 😊
