I don't know how ANY of them aren't as "famous"-that bloody Kids thing is her most UN-remarkable 80s song ever. 'House Of Salome' is ultimate, and virtually everything she's ever done so brill, especially in the 80s where she was the heights of all heights. This is the kind of thing only she can do and it sounds so cool, hip and not sentimental at all.

But it isn't just that. It was written in response to the Chernobyl disaster when for some months in 1986 it looked like much of the world would suffer because of it and Kim then feared for what kind of world here sister was being born into as she wouldn't have started school yet but would be a 'Schoolgirl' for a future looking increasingly uncertain. "There is sadness and confusion in our hearts, as the world prepares to fight as it tears it apart, it isn't fair" says the middle-eight which is where the song hits hardest. You also hear it more in the instrumentation and electric guitar, but that's in the longer version (called the 'Headmaster Mix), not the shorter one here.

and anyway I think that this song could be sung about schoolboy. Talking about beauty I can only offer to watch some of for example "den harrow" 80s videos. I think there's no as beautiful girl as den harrow (a boy) at all. there are many beautiful boys. And else, as sung "the whole world waiting for you", I wonder why shouldnt "the whole world" be waiting for a schoolboy? I dont think girls are any better than boys.
