Nice to see a lack of "This ain't real archery... trick bows blah blah" comments. Perhaps those who think this isn't 'real' archery should try to consistently hit a 12cm circle at 70m.

Theyre not gripping the bow. They wear a sling to catch the bow when it falls. This is done to increase their accuracy as gripping the bow does have a drawback in getting a shot in

Who are they close to Lars Andersen?
@MrTsar-ui8eh
@MrTsar-ui8eh 4 жыл бұрын
It's disingenuous to compare them to Lars as we're dealing with two different types of shooting. Olympic archery requires exceptional stationary accuracy at far ranges and shots are taken at a much slower rate, whereas Lars' style is highly mobile and revolves around being moderately accurate at a medium to short range while pouring down many arrows in seconds (tldr trickshotting). Same tools, different sport.
@user-xf2rm7pp4z

This is different
@EdenLongo
@EdenLongo 4 жыл бұрын
@@user-xf2rm7pp4z ok guys. But I'd bet Lars in a Olympic competition. I know that is an horrible comparation, but it's like a professional soccer player and a street ball artist. The soccer ball performers have much more mastery and precision than a professional soccer player. Obviously the game conditions demands much others preparations, but these are easily surmountable details. I think so. Lars' skill is embarrassing for those who depends on archery technology.
@EdenLongo
@EdenLongo 4 жыл бұрын
@@MrTsar-ui8eh different sports. Ok. But in your opinion, who is better handling these tools?
@user-xf2rm7pp4z
@user-xf2rm7pp4z 4 жыл бұрын
Eden Longo I wouldn’t say this is advanced archery technology. If someone wanted to just do trick shots with a regular wooden bow then they can go ahead and learn it. These Olympic or “target” bows are designed for this type of shooting. But you can’t use these types of bows in what Lars does. Whereas with the wooden bows that Lars uses, he can’t use those in these far distance shooting tournaments.

I understand this is competition. But all the same I feel like all the extra stuff, like the sight, stabilizers etc, takes away from just bare bones archery. Not trying to sound like a douche but I feel like just using the bow and arrows with no accessories would demonstrate true skill. I’m sure these guys would have no problem with it, but I’d like to see how such a competition would play out.
