Yesss!!! You chose great notes, I didn't even know the existence of some older notes lol. She had been consistent up to D5/Eb5 in seeya days, but I think she's better now, as she used to sound in 2006-2008 even darker than what she is, in an unnatural way(low larynx maybe?). Her resonance seems to he larger and her control is better as well now. Btw, do you think the Wild Flower's F5 was strained?

Thanks! 2006-2008/9 she tried to carry too much weight, thus sounded forced and went flat really often. I think she is better as overall than the old days but I think her resonance was larger and better overall in 2009/2010-2011 than nowadays. Of course she has better control and pitch nowadays, but she sometimes sounds more tight and narrower than she used to be

@@aileelove1238 I forgot to mention that her transitions are way more clean and her head voice has improved a lot. Before 2011 she barely used it, and when used, it was very airy. Now she has a well connected and projected one with the ability to support as high as B5.

Yonatan Borohov lol can you give me the link when Yeonji support B5?? Also, both of Eb5 and F5 in wildflower had pretty much of tension now... it sound the same with her E5 in i hope i would be that way now

@@jinji4609 kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6PJd5efjtZ3epo 3:26 She isn't consistent that high, even her Bb5s can be pushed. The F5 in Wild Flower is her best F5 ever, and the Eb5 is resonant. She did strained the Eb5 in the televised performance, but it's okey, because it's just a bad day. It's impossible to be 100% consistent with support, especially in the top of your supported range. But most of her Eb5s are supported and many are resonant, so it's safe to give her consistency on that note.

Her Eb5 in wildflower is strained, her openess is less than before and throat tension is becoming overwhelm now. The good placement is present but support, not anymore. The headvoice you link is not supported too lol not opened at all, even B5 of Luna or Wendy is better. I used to think the eb5 has pushed resonance, but i noticed her openess is worse than before, some throat tension is more present... now i’m sure she only support C5/C#5 tbh. There’s some inconsistent moment but not that much, even her C5 is not very opened anymore. The regression is happening like Hyorin before, when even the easy note of her has tension

she changed her placement a bit like park hyo shin she was a bit too heavy on her approach, she still chesty but more bright it just not at drastic as park you shin case

@Minh Thuận in the past yes definitely, he even talked about how his old agency told to just push in the recording studios ..... he knew it wasn't the best so he slowly began mixing with a higher placement ....his voice did sound different and many of his fans didn't like the change actually ( same thing with junsu there's some who didn't like what he sounded like when he began his musical career )

Not the best singer, but somehow I always love her? Man I have such a weak spot for Full-Lyrics like her. I think even though she strains in her upper mix and lowers her larynx for low notes, it's pretty amazing how her voiced has aged. I just love her arrangements on some her covers. She never over-sings in my opinion. God her vibrato is GORGEOUS except when she's straining but damn. I think some of her resonance is better on the lower belts because she seems ever bit throaty nowadays? It reminds me of how Whitney Houston sounds on her lower belts when she sounds throaty yet still having that crazy output for days. I think if she was more diligent, she could easily begin supporting above Eb5.

Kevin Nguyen she is more throaty recently, yes. Her C#5 on sugarman is... sad, her Eb5 in wildflower is not good too

I love your detailed comment. I also believe that she avoids over-singing. She prioritize emotional delivery to being show-off-y with random high notes. She has often shown tight/shrill moments recently. Hope she take care of herself (approach, voice health etc..)

Not exactly related to the video, but what do think about this performance? A regression or just she was just tired? kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZumaaiMmL12i7c I think she still maintained technique and resonance up to Eb5, and even the Bb5 in the 4th song sounded really nice(supported maybe?), but she sounded so tired and her transions were maybe in the worst condition I've ever heard from her. Her pitch wasn't great either...

It sounds like her voice is in very bad condition. She often sounds tight even within her supported range sometimes since mid/late 2016 but this perf is somewhat worse. As she did some cleanly supported Eb5 with vibtato in butterfly song unlike most of recent sustained one, I woundn't consider it regression yet unless condition like this continues.
