A big thanks to you both!!!! We made our 1st visit to Rome last year & had our favorite meal on our 1st night. We'll blame it on jet lag, but we forgot the name, but did take pictures of the food-of course. So, we're heading back to Italy later this month & just watched this video & we realized that Dar Poeta was that same restaurant. So excited that rather than aimlessly walking the streets of Trastevere trying to find the same place, you guys "found" it for us. We also hit Otaleg last year (yes, all due to Bobby & Giada) and thought it was good. Thanks again & we really enjoy your videos.

Ahh that's amazing!! lol!! Dar Poetta is sooooo yummy:)!! We were just talking about Rome yesterday, and how were really want to go back for a few days and just eat all the things lol:) Have fun...thanks for watching:)!!! Have some pizza and wine for us:)!!

Ok. Visited Rome July 2022. Went to IL Corallo based upon another local’s recommendation for dinner. Knew place sounded familiar. Then saw Arturo there and remembered this video. Definitely recommend the spaghetti carbonara there.

You are our sort of people!! Pizza and ice cream!! We love Italy. The thin base pizzas makes them feel so light (which counteracts when they serve you a pizza the size of the moon!). You cannot beat Italian gelato. They looked delicious. Love your tips! New sub here x
@KIMandERRAN3 жыл бұрын
Yay:)!!! Thank you!! Thank you for watching!! I totally agree … bc they were so thin I felt like we could eat them everyday and not feel like total pigs lol 🐽 I literally dream about gelato lol!! There is nothing in the world like real Italian gelato!! 😋 😋 😋

Great video. I'm looking forward to visiting Rome some time next year. While learning a little Italian before my trip the ch in italian is pronounced like a k. Pistachio is pronounced pistakio. Just a fun fact check. Thank you

I just saw this one. Love it. My husband and I Love Dar Poeta. On our first visit to Rome our B&B owner told us this is where we eat Pizza. AMAZING FOOD -way too much but that didn't stop us from eating there every year. Glad you enjoyed.

Loved the video. I am curious. Do people in Italy take home their uneaten food or is that a no-no?
@KIMandERRAN2 жыл бұрын
Lol!! Great question!!! I don’t know if it’s a No No but I can tell you from experience everything was so good that there was never anything left behind, lol!! Our bodies weren’t happy but we didn’t care. It never hurts to ask. There are a lot of grab and go places but now that I’m thinking about it I never saw anyone at a sit down restaurant with a to go bag or box. INTERESTING!!! Thanks for asking and taking time to watch our video. Means a lot!!!

I have to give you some bad news: the first is that you have started your food tour from the best country in the world for food and the other countries will suffer the comparison. second bad news if you have spent a week just to try the typical Roman dishes it will take a year just to taste the typical main dishes in Italy because every region, every province and every city in Italy has typical dishes.I am writing to you from Sicily and when you arrive here you will understand that it only takes a month in Sicily (and maybe it is not enough!)
@KIMandERRAN3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree!! Rome is our first stop and due to our new start up business launching we have to cut our tour of all of Italy short. But we will come back soon. When we come back to Italy we definitely want to explore Sicily. Maybe you would want to show us around to all the best food. We heard so many good things about Sicily and really can’t wait to finish our food tour of ALL of Italy. It is a food paradise and each region is so unique and special. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!!

Yes agree there are many local places. We just tried to hit the best that we were told by our local food guide vs a famous USA chef that spent 6 weeks in Roma. It’s never possible to hit every local place that is great as much as we would love to. Grazie Mille for watching and leaving a comment means a lot to us!!!

@KIMandERRAN3 жыл бұрын
Lol!! Our thoughts exactly!! But as Kim said it’s not what we expected but they brought it to us so we tried it. It was good but I preferred it without!!! Very random!! Added some salt and more flavor. We honestly never say “NO” to Italian Parmigiano!! Thanks for watching.

Surprised to see you eating pizza with your hands (like Americans). They do not cut pizza an give you a knife and fork so that you cut bite size pizza and eat with a fork. Watch other Italians.

Just left Rome all was great but pizza disappointing! Crust is nice and light and what little meat(all uncooked) is on the pizza is just sprinkled on top! First thing back in the USA was a big meat lovers pizza! All gelatos were awesome!
@KIMandERRAN Жыл бұрын
Pizza is definitely a personal preference food. There are so many ways that if one thing is off some people don't prefer it vs that one thing that is off is how people like it. I think that is why we like pizza so much because people are very clear on how they like their pizza and its so different and unique!! Gelatos were absolutely amazing!! Thanks for taking the time to watch and send us a comment!!

Guys. Really like your videos but it's been CRINGE worthy to watch wear a baseball cap in Rome. Never at dinner. The height of rudeness to Italians. Leave it at home please. Yikes. And backwards?? Wow. But thanks anyway. Keep the baseball caps at home!!!

Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. Being from the south (USA) I totally agree so thank you for letting me know the Italians feel the same. I didn’t know that at all, but now I do. Being that we are Traveling for full year I’m not dressing the way I want to or normally do. Our vanity has been left at home in the USA. If we were on vacation I would have hair products and nicer outfits. I am going through a older age crisis of not liking the way my hair looks (thinning) and being on camera I’ve gotten a little self conscious about it so a hat makes me feel better. But if it’s disrespectful then I will remember that and just own my thinning hair look. Again thanks for the knowledge moving forward!!
