Due to the taper of the mag, I’m guessing that’s why it’s only 13+1. Para Ordnance based pistols hold 14 in a shorter magazine. A mag that length should hold at least 15 but the taper starting where it does, that’s the limiting factor.

Only gripes I have right out of the box with this amazing new pistol is the slide serrations look rather shallowly machined into it and that magazine hangs wayyyy down out of the bottom of the magazine well for my liking. I would totally run this blaster with some custom cut grip tape inlayed into the serrations, install a RMR HD on the optic plate, and run the Target model's extended magwell or one rather similar to it so the magazine basepad area sticking down looks more integrated into the grip itself... likely get the black colored version in 9MM since I have 9MM pistols already. Nuff said.

Love that other manufacturers are stepping up the plate for DS offerings, however 2K for a MIM-Ber or for another $400 a Staccato P with gunsmith fit barrel and all billet parts is still apples to oranges by comparison. The .45 acp chambering and aluminum frame does get a double thumbs up.

How to break that gun down with the toolless guide rod. Pull slide back, engage the catch at the front of the guide rod. This takes the tension out of the spring. Push the slide forward so the notch on the slide matches the bump on the slide stop. Push the slide stop out. It's super easy now because there's no tension on the spring. Push the slide forward, remove the toolless guide rod, push the barrel out. Clean. Reassembly. Place the barrel in the slide. Insert toolless guide rod. DO NOT LET THE SPRING GO BACK. Place slide back on. You should see the link. Since there's no tension, it's easy to put the slide stop back in. Release the spring and it's done.

That's a limitation solely related to the fact that the ammo is 45ACP. Designing a 10 round mag just to not be OCD-triggered is a bit wild when you can just add a mag well. About your 9mm comment, choice is always good. 9mm is the common/default offering with 2011s. The fact that Kimber did this in 45ACP is great...they're pretty much the only production gun maker that are currently chambering their 2011 in 45ACP.

Do the slide serrations actually work or are they just for decoration, they look like decoration with not much functionality?
