Except it's not really a secret. I talk about this ALL. THE. TIME. but I wanted to make a dedicated video on this topic, because despite being one of the most powerful things you can do for your handmade business, and it's one of the most overlooked.
I warn you now though, this is no hack. It will take work and it will take time. And also, a genuine desire to connect with your audience. You can't fake it.
But if you have a small business or shop and you're looking to grow it in a way that's sustainable, viable and future-proof.. then this one's for you.

Yep-per!!! Every successful business is based on the support of a community of relationships that are built with like minded people that will support, inspire and encourage growth. Fear not about it though. Everyone started with zero. Thats the incredible thing about it is that it is very organic and everyones results will be different. Just enjoy the ride and keep going. 👍

I'm pinning this because "enjoy the ride and keep going" is great advice. There's so much in life that's outside of our control that will drag us down. It's important to enjoy what we can, when we can. Cheers John! 😁👍

I really liked this video because I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by how social media has been changing and the more stuff we have to do for it… and it’s not reaching my community anymore. But anyways I really like how you said no matter where you go you’ll make a community there it makes me wanna not give up and be open minded thank you 😊

I lmow what you mean. It has to be said that some platforms are harder to make a community on. It's more about being able to talk to the one you already have in some cases. Instagram is like that for me. A great place to talk to my existing audience, but absolutely useless for growing it.

Totally agree with this, although building community can be just as hard as making sales in our oversaturated markets. As a newbie to KZbin I am hoping this is the way forward, because it sure isn't lurking anywhere else. Also, I feel exhausted by it all. My brain hurts. I need a holiday from business worry. :D

Hey there, thanks for watching! And I love that niche, that sounds like a real artisan craft. I also wonder if that would be interesting to people here on KZbin too? 👍

@@KimBliss thanks Kim, its definitely is real artisan niche as about 90% of the work has to be done by hand I plan make video's about it for youtube and document it as well if I can

If Instagram is the platform you enjoy most then that's a great start. But don't worry if you change your mind later. The community aspect is the key take away here, more than any particular platform. 😉

I failed miserably at building an online community. On Instagram I was looking for customers and got other artists (which is lovely - just not what I was looking for) and on Facebook I was showing my paintings of wildlife and ended up with large numbers of people who wanted landscapes 😐🤣
@KimBliss
@KimBliss Жыл бұрын
Oh, Instagram. It had my heart for so long, but it is *terrible* for getting found by new customers. Facebook, Meta or whatever they want to be called now basically want you to pay to be seen so for businesses, organic discovery feels nigh on impossible on those platforms.
