Please, regale us with your amazing voice if you can do such a better job. Maybe you too will someday earn a Grammy. Listened to her live, she can, in fact, hit the notes. Everybody's gotta be shitty on the Internet.
@Ducatisatva7 жыл бұрын
All music is technically produced. And Kimbra can hit all the high notes. But her voice is imperfect but in a way that brings a beautiful human element to her art. And it is so very hard with her range to do it all the time on a consistant basis. Some of her live performences are stronger then others. And you can see her giving it her all during an extended set to try and make the most of what is a very hard task. She also uses production to make the most of her voice and to also create great sounds with effects and looping etc. But the product that comes out shows such a dedication and genius and true emotional expression. Now I have watched all the Sing Sing songs very close and indeed there seems to be some points where you can tell they were not all done in one take. Indeed the performances are amazing and almost would be superhuman of her to pull off in a simple one take each continuos session. But there is enough in these songs to show her talent clear enough to democtrate how great and artist she really is. And to me live Vs. Studio with Kimbra is kind of a strange thing to try to compare. They are like two different animals. Her production prowess and creativity in the studio make reproduction of the songs live almost impossible. So she has to work up almost a whole other arraignment and version for the live experience. And she does it well. Now forget everything I wrote and everything you are thinking and just listen and enjoy! Breath and listen, breath and listen, repeat.
@Ducatisatva7 жыл бұрын
Well I think the camera being seen in the shots might not be as much of a problem as you say. Most of the shots have the glass behind her in them so they are all at very similar angles. There is a quick shot or two with the Drummer in the background that was clearly shooting toward where the majority of the shot were shot from. Of course there is also a few of the very wide pulled back shot which are also different. You are right about the parts that are one take and amazing. As far as autotune well she does use some help on some of her vocals to a much lessor extent in some of her other work. In some interview she has openly talked about that. Not the same as autotune but in the same sort of help to the voice. Let's face it, now in days all the artist use some of this kind of help. But there is plenty of livew footage of Kimora all over youtube which shows how genuinely amazing her voice and range really are. Even though they are not really simply live tracks but are done with multiple takes the sing sing sessions are still some of my favorite videos of hers where the version is still done in a improvised way of live songs. I really love Good Intent and Plain Gold Ring the most. But all are so great and I love just watching her movements and facial expressions along with the sound. I think these sessions will become historic as eventually she reaches a very high point in her career.
