@@WhiteBoyGamer At first, I understood and related to the MC, but he then chose the girl that left him hanging only to find out he was dumped for his *best friend* Asuka deserves an award I hope there's more women like her. She’s immensely loyal to the MC and always do her best around him. The story ended so ironically, it left a bad taste in my mouth. The one that was loyal and loving, gets heart broken in *The Worst Way* . I haven’t red nor plan to read the manga, if you don’t mind, can you please explain me how manga readers relate/like the ending?

@@sinestro1136 I can answer that for you. People relate because love causes you to make dumb decisions. If you love someone and you break up, you aren't going to just move on completely so easily, you'll more than likely do things you wouldn't think you'd do and have other question your actions. That's the case of Haruto. The anime paints Haruto and Yuzuki as people who play with the emotions of others and look bad because of it, while the manga shows that they aren't bad people, Yuzuki is actually one of the nicest people in the story, Haruto is fairly grounded and down to earth, they just make questionable choices like *EVERYONE* does and they suffer consequences for them. That's something people can relate to. The anime didn't touch on this but the reason why most people who read the manga are easier on Haruto is because: 1. They knew Yuzuki dated Kazuma out of pity to indulge him on his dying request. 2. They knew Haruto was still in love with Yuzuki when he began dating Asuka. Heck while Haruto DID like Asuka, the MAIN REASON he began dating her was because Asuka gave him an ultimatum of: *"Date me or we're not friends anymore"* and after Haruto lost his best friend and Yuzuki leaving his life out of guilt for the trouble she caused, he wasn't up for losing anyone else. 3. Haruto got his punishment when he broke up with Asuka for Yuzuki when all of his friends gave him an ultimatum of: *"Get back together with Asuka or we're not friends anymore"* . Yuzuki and Haruto never stopped loving each other throughout the story and Haruto choosing Yuzuki cost him his friends. However, close to the end of the 4th arc/beginning of the 5th, Haruto and Yuzuki reconnect with their old friends and re-establish their friendship with them. People like the ending because everyone has a happy ending. 1. All of Haruto's friends are either married or they're in a committed relationship. 2. Haruto and Asuka bury the hatchet and become friends again. Asuka and Yuzuki even make peace and become friends. 3. Haruto and Yuzuki get married and have a kid. Heck, Asuka even attends their wedding. 4. Yuzuki gets a job as a teacher 5. Haruto becomes a professional chef and opens up his own restaurant after making a bunch of popular drinks for sports bars 6. Asuka becomes a professional baseball player and the manga ends with the main cast meeting up at Haruto's restaurant to watch her game on TV. *(Although people do take issue with how rushed the ending was. Haruto and Yuzuki break up for two years, get back together, get married, have a kid, and Haruto opens up his own restaurant in the span of like 3 chapters)*

@@TheShapeH31 Thank you for explaining the whole thing. My point of view of the story has mostly changed, but I still believe MC dating Asuka for his own selfish desire is scummy. I know everyone make these kind of decisions everyday, but I just wish that the MC manned up and handled it better. Now that I think of it, I can somewhat relate to this as well. My ex (1 year dating), left me in one of the worst ways you could think of. She handled our breakup very immaturely. After treating her right and everything, she still left me for her best friend (male). Their relationship got toxic quick and that relationship ended fast. Anyways, I’m getting off-topic. I’m glad everything went well and they were able to bury the hatchet in the manga. The anime is good but the ending was terrible, I wished I red the manga instead. Btw, I recommend watching “Scum’s wish”. In my opinion, that anime showed “love makes you do bad things” really good. If u plan to watch it, I recommend to read the manga to where the anime ended.
