Sometimes, I feel people think he's only golden meme material. They forgot he whooped driver's asses back in the early 2000s. His stint from 2002-07 was awesome!! Even on his return with Lotus, he gave us two great seasons and there was a kind of Raikkonen Renaissance in 2018. He was the more consistent Ferrari driver. I love him for his talent, not for his unintentional funniness. One of the greats of modern F1, even loved by Michael.

It's good to see there are no hard feeling between Charles and Kimi - sometimes people can be quite bitter towards the people they get replaced by. Kimi is a dad himself so he knows how painful it must have been for Charles to lose his. Incredible to think Charles was just 3 when Kimi made his debut Melbourne 2001. Back in those days Monaco was even more challenging with La Rascasse, Le Tabac and La Piscine having much tighter entries and there was even bigger risk of slapping the barrier . Kimi thinks the current Monaco circuit is sanitised . Kimi is also the only driver on the grid to have raced in F1 on the classic Hockenheim with the long straights through the forest - though only once in his rookie 2001 season
