Well Vikings were actually really nice people, the thing most people don't get or understand is that there technically was no Vikings as Viking was their word for raid, so they'd shout it as they raided a place there for making people call them Vikings. They'd actually be Vikinger raider. Yea they did some bad things but what culture hasn't? Their people were mostly traders and adventures they hardly raided and the ones that did only did it because they needed food or were just looking for a fight lol. A fact most people don't know is that in Viking culture woman were highly respected so much so that if a married couple were to split that everything went to the wife as the guy was expected to be able to build himself up once more. And yes that means jarl's too, but it was incredibly rare for a marriage to fall apart like that, as most Viking men were incredibly loyal to their wife's and same with the wife to her husband. Remember most of them raided, traveled and explored together as the woman fought just as much as the men, that tends to make strong bonds
